Maybe we should change the Tripawty venue to "dog friendly" Carmel! Oooooh, mom has a new entry for our dictionary!

Ms. Codie Rae, that's a very nice thought, but maybe that would be difficult for such a large group to travel to us, instead of a small group travelling to you guys. We are happy to make the trip, especially since it was our idea. But, whatever is easiest for everyone. The beach at Carmel is beautiful...

You guys, we had such an awesome time today. Thank you so much for your support. Geez, the way Caira was acting, you'd think I made up this week of hell!
It just goes to show how important it is to treat the spirit. That goes for us as well as Caira Sue's!
It was lovely meeting Jim and Rene and Wyatt Ray . That was the best turnout we had yet for a Northern California Tripawd party!
here's the shutterly connection:

as always, I'm sure Jack's pictures will be better....but here's a preview anyway!
Thanks again, everyone. You are all so important to me and have really made this journey something quite fun!

May 2001-Jan 21, 2010.....I'm a dog and I'm AWESOME!..... Always.
What a great group this tripawds group is. We had a wonderful time meeting all of our new ( and some of our old) tripawd friends today. It was great to see so many happy tripawds in one place. What a sight. This is one special group. I'm glad we got to be a part of it today.

Seanne,
I feel badly for being so focused on Caira today that I didn't know who you were. I had to go research this "wrigley" fellow. I honestly thought you were someone's friend from somewhere. Anyway, I apologize. I would have liked to hear a tale (tail) or two about Wrigley and how you made it through. Also, I would have taken a few more pix for you. This week has been a rough one on us. Like I said, usually we are more out there and meeting the people, but today we were a bit Caira focused.
I'm glad you came and got to meet everyone else, though! I think I did get a couple pix of your dogs on Shutterfly and Mary tells me you can pull prints off there pretty easy (if any of them came out to your liking).
Take care,
Mary

Cemil is on the bed sleeping. Has been since he finished his dinner. What a wonderful day!! We are a good group--I love it when we get together. Mary, thanks for posting the pictures. I got 'em all. Besides them, I have another lasting memory of the day--the end of my finger is all purple where that collie snapped up the treat (and my finger). All of our dogs were very gentle.
Have good holidays everyone. I'm blessed to know you all.

Cemil and mom Mary, Mujde and Radzi….appreciating and enjoying Today
Mary,
Please don't feel bad at all. I was so focused on whether Willow was ever going to behave, I felt I didn't really get the time to chat with everyone as I had hoped. I have followed you all along and would have loved to hear more stories from you as well. I guess I'll just have to come again.
I will tell you that I got through it all with the wonderful support of all of the tripawds gang. I could not have done it without the help of the wonderful people on this site. Even today, the tripawds famiy brought me so much joy. I will confess this month has been especially difficult because it was this time last year that Wrigley was diagnosed and she had her amputation on Dec. 22. It has been a hard reminder going through this month- So today seeing all of those tripawds looking so good was a wonderful sight.
Wrigley was our hero. Going through this battle with her was truly a life changing experience. She taught our entire family so much.
Thank you for taking such wonderful photos of the day. I showed the kids as they were excited to see Cemil- we met Cemil earlier this
year at a canine cancer walk.
Caira Sue was such a kick today. What a great dog- and a very impressive tripawd.
We look forward to seeing you all again. Like Mary, I too feel blessed to know you all.
Seanne
PS. Mary- Willow and Rookie slept the entire ride home ( about 2 hours) and are still snoozing.
Seanne and Angel Wrigley
We had a great time as well. Both girls are snoring away, and have been pretty much asleep since they finished dinner.
Mary- good job on the pics (and Adam too?), and I think you have the appropriate number of pug butt shots!!!
I love the one of Caira next to Maggie in her sanctuary.
Tani was such a good, almost normal dog today- I know none of you believe me about what a little demon she can be, but I was really happy to get through the day without a blow up that she caused. Perhaps she is finally mellowing with age.
There were lots of interesting comments from people checking out our group, but I think my favorite was: "is this like a club?".
I hope everyone has a peaceful holiday, and I hope to see all of you in January.
Karen and the pug girls
Oh you guys we are still on cloud nine after seeing everyone and playing all day! We can't thank you enough for creating such a beautiful, supportive community. It is so touching to think of the friendships that have been formed, all because we became part of a club none of us ever wanted or expected to join.
We'll have more photos and movies up as soon as we land somewhere for a while, stay tuned.
Thanks again!!!

HAHAHAHAHA!!!! Club. Yes, and we're VERY exclusive 🙂 Did I read somewhere that people were going to plan a pawty for February or March-ish (Jim and Rene, were you going to be in CA? Or am I imagining this?!?). Aaron's "dad" was thinking of flying out from MI and we would take a road trip down to play. However, I get nervous planning cancer dog events too far in advance... 😛
Well the NoCA Tripawds get together every month. We are going to do our darndest to make the January one, hope to see you there!!!
But yeah, you got it, one day at a time . . .

Our next one is jan 9th. We haven't planned the dated for Feb or march...but if you have a recommendation, this is the place to put it.
I really enjoy our little "club" even if you have to lose a leg to get in! What a support system I feel like I have.
And it's not all a cancer group. Several members in the NorCal group are rescue dogs who lost their legs for other reasons. So don't worry, they will definitely be there!
