Ok, so there's still a &*^$ton of snow out there. But one of these days, there won't be! I think we should get together. What about in NYC? There are enough trains in/out of the city to accommodate us. Hmmm - that suggestion means that it'd be a tripawd-person party rather than with furbabies. But, that's OK too! We can be that group in a bar or restaurant sharing stories, pictures, videos of our most precious!
Any takers? Any interest? I know Erica and I will be there!
Maybe a weekend day in March or April?

ACL tear in right hind leg 12/5/12 and scheduled ACL repair surgery 12/21/12. Pre-op xrays revealed osteosarcoma. Amputation 12/28/12. Chemo (carboplatin) started Jan 10, 2013 and ended on April 5, for a total of 5 doses. He handled carbo like a champ! No side effects. We started metronomic therapy at his third chemo and have been also doing some holistic treatments. He's a lively, playful 10 year old huskie-boarder collie and a very proud member of the Winter Warriors! Our love. Our funny little guy!
Pawesome! I'm putting this out there via FB & Twitter. Post here occasionally to bump up the topic and remind me to spread the word. I hope you guys can get something together, let me know how I can help!

IM IN!!!!! And maybe we can have a tiny after PAWTY en mi casa so Jill can meet you all
Jill is a 9-year-old tuxedo kitty. She was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in June 2012 on her toe in her right hind leg. Her leg was amputated on 12/12/12 and she completed four rounds of chemo (2 of Carbo, 2 of Doxy) in April 2013. "Like" Jill's facebook page: https://www.fac.....tty?ref=hl Proud member of the WINTER WARRIORS!!!! Her blog can be read at http://jillsjou.....ipawds.com. xoxo
I live in central Mass. Not sure if I can swing it, but keep me posted here and I'll check back.
Would be cool to know other tripawd parents in the area!!
Cooper (11/11/11 - 3/29/24) was a hound-collie mix "mutt" who was badly injured as a puppy and lost his leg at 7 months of age. We adopted him after the operation. He' was wonderful companion and comforting presence in our family for 12 years. He lived a fabulous life on three legs and was an inspiration to all. We will never forget our Coopie-Doopie-Doo.
Glad you're on board, Erica! YES! Let's meet Jill! COME TO NYC everypawdy! COME and have a good time!

I'm in Easthampton! I'd be interested in helping organize an event closer to home. I can't host at my house, but there's a dog park around here that might be a fun place to meet. By "dog park" I mean 5k walking loop through fields and forests and by streams where friendly dogs are welcome off leash. I haven't met any other tripawds there, but there is an older pooch in a wheelchair I see out there from time to time.
It's snowbound right now, and from the looks of it, will continue to be so for a while, but should be melted and not a total mudhole by mid-April.

What about Sat May 3 or the 4th? If not those dates (I'm like 80% sure they work for me), I'm afraid I cannot commit until June. To help clarify, we should start planning what we're doing!
As mentioned, Jackson will remain at home - if we hold this party in NYC. He's a grump around most other dogs. But, Miss Jilly Bean kitty-cat can be a star feature for us in NYC!
Do we meet up at a bar/restaurant and giggle, chat, and tell stories then migrate to meet Jill? Or, are there more NYC Tripawds (um....get we PLEASE get Jon Stewart in on this! He's got a Tripawd!) that should unite at a park?
If May 3 or 4 is good, the Brooklyn Botanical Garden's cherry blossoms may still be going...they're a little late this year. Going there is gorgeous! But, no doggies allowed.
Ideas, people. Ideas!
Otherwise, Erica and I will play with Jilly Bean and Jack all day, and post silly selfies and group videos together...

Subscribing to this thread! Would love to hear more if you come to NYC, we are in Brooklyn, but as Rosco is day 1 post-amp, we'll see how it's going in May!
Even better! We can FLOOD you with help and support! And if cutie-pie Rosco is up for a visit, we'd love it! I'm sure as time approaches we can find a way to combine seeing Jill and meeting Rosco.
YEY!
