Hey everyone,
A couple of tripawd moms/dads were planning on coming to Vegas the 1st weekend of December for a marathon race. We don't run over here at Cometland but we can wear red party hats and cheer loudly! The race is December 4 on a Sunday.
So, we thought it would be great to send out an invite to anyone that wanted to come to Las Vegas for the weekend or ...whenever!
Las Vegas and Tripawd Friends...it will be a blast!
(did I mention it's Las Vegas, New Mexico?..............just kidding - It's Sin City, Nevada!)

such a tempting opportunity. of course, paws crossed that i'll be hanging and knitting with gayle through december and beyond... someday, we will meet, i promise!!!! (maybe with kay on scooters..)
charon & gayle
of course, you are always welcome in ET...who wouldn't want to vacation in the smokys.....
Life is good, so very, very good!!! Gayle enjoyed each and every moment of each and every wonderful day (naps included). She left this world December 12, 2011 – off on a new adventure.
Love Never Ends
Oooo. That sounds like fun. I'll have to look at our calendar... Vegas isn't too far for us.
And, Charon - yes, we vacationed in the smokys before! It was fun. Also went to Lynchburg. Good times. But a little too far for a road trip... (And, also, yes - we hope you'll be hanging and knitting with Gayle for a long, long, long time!!)

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!
Charon,
You just don't even make plans! It's great that you can't come! There will be so many "next times"! And yes, we'll have to plan on a trip to Granny K's or something!
Jackie,
You better come...it's a tiny weekend trip. You can surely bring Abby.

Well I just checked the map and it is a 27-hour drive to Vegas. Do you think I could make it back in time for work on Monday? Although I don't think any of us can do 27 hours in a car with Sam.

TATE ~ Forever in our hearts.
Abby is not real crazy about car rides - unless they are to the beach. But maybe I could dope her up... Have to start working on the hubby. (Or come without him...)
Who amongst us is crazy enough... I mean, super fit enough to run a marathon?

BTW, just looked and I see it's the rock n' roll marathon - I bet that is a real kick to run in Vegas. There must be TONS of Elvises (Elvi?) running it. (I did the RnR race long ago in San Diego. It was fun - except for the whole running 26.2 miles part.)

I would totally come and WATCH the running with the Woo, but I have already committed to sitting in a tiny booth and selling my "Shiny Objects" to a Christmas present purchasing sort of crowd. Now I'm wishing I goin' to Vegas, baby!

We will just have to look into some airfare prices. Brian has always wanted to go to Vegas. We aren't runners at all but could be good cheerleaders or water fetchers.
The drive would be too far so maybe Ginger will get a babysitter and then we can have a childless free trip.
Gee, I don't know....it's a really long drive, like 42 miles I think! I have to work Friday and Saturday, but you can count me in for Sunday. I would like to bring Ranger because, at least since I've had him, he has never seen anyone run before ( or participate in any form of exercise). It would be a new and experience for him
Sadie is my 9yr old Rott/Shepherd mix. Diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her right scapula 1/28/10. Our brave girl had her amputation 2/13/10 and her last chemotherapy on 6/6/10. Unfortunately, a tumor appeared in her back right leg and on 10/7/2010 Sadie's earthly journey came to an end. On 10/24/2010 we adopted Ranger, a handsome Rott/Lab mix tripawd (got hit by a car) I think Sadie sent him to us.

I'll be one of the last to cross the finish line, by which time all the fans will have gotten bored with the wait and long left for Margaritaville. Of course, this is all contingent on me not breaking an ankle on the way to the START line like last time. Cheering and water would be good; but really, a stretcher would be most appreciated.

Oh what fun! The more the merrier!!!! It would so cool if Annie and Brian can come...again - we can't gossip about you if you are here!!!
Carmen - my mom left a wobbly wheel wheelchair at my house - so you are all set! Now that I've seen you stab your hand with your bracelet just walking Riley, I'll bring it when we greet you at the airport from Canada! Airports have moving escalators!
