Since it's on May Day, we (or at least I) have a workers' right demo to go to, otherwise we'd try to come down. And we are still working on some dog park issues Gerry has, so it's probably all for the best. I'll keep at it though, so that hopefully we can make it to future Illinois tripawd get-togethers! Have a great time!!!
Gerry has been a tripawd since 12/16/2009.
He was a shelter dog with a mysterious past and an irrepairable knee injury.
Videos and pics of Gerry's pawesomeness can be found at: http://gerry.tripawds.com
Sounds like a Pawty!

The weather is not looking good for Sunday Whether or not it's raining, I recommend wearing rainboots...you often need them at the beach until mid June anyway, but with all the rain this year (and tons of melted snow), the beach & park are SLOPPY! I would expect it to be pretty windy.
The beaches are weeks from opening, the city's political landscape is changing for the first time in decades, & the weather has been terrible... the spring cleanup is definitely not underway....the dogs are loving it....
There is a nice self-wash facility a few blocks from the beach...$18
Yay! So is it still on?

I think it may work out! It's going to be windy & cold...you just have to dress well...hoods & rainboots! I never go there until July without a warm jacket in the car. The smaller dogs & those with shorter hair, especially Trouper, should wear their coats. Isabelle still wears a coat (even though it's probably more for me!).
If anyone is checking the forecast, be sure to take into consideration it's usually coming from the airport & not the lakefront...better to have warm clothes than not.
I was there today, it was cold, but the dogs didn't seem to mind....but around here unless it's below zero & the snow waist deep, there are dogs at the lakefront.
Parking will be easier if the weather isn't great
My Daddy told me Spring can be treacherous in Chicago. After all, it is the Windy City. He only lived there for three years, but the cold hawk wind still chills him to the bone he says. But that's OK. Us Tripawds have been through a lot and we are not gonne let some cold weather keep us from having fun. I can't wait, guys and girls.
See you Sunday,
Ginger
I can't wait either Ginger. My mom said Holly is for sure coming!
I heard the guy on TV say it might be SUNNY!......not warm, but I like it better when it's cooler anyway! My mom said to tell your dad there's no Spring anymore in Chicago until October! It's just Winter, then hot & humid.
Today there was a whole lake right in the middle of the beach where the sand used to be. I got yelled at alot for going in it..but I pretended I didn't hear! There was lots of stuff to roll in....I got yelled at for that too!
Drive safely & I'll see you soon.
Isabelle
Ginger's dad is right, Chicago is cold! Up north at our cabin, 40's is sweatshirt weather. Here, it's winter jacket, long johns, hat, mittens...

We can't wait! What a beautiful day for a Chicago area pawty! See you all soon!
Holly Jolly By Golly
Holly joined the world of tripawds on 12/29/2009. She has a big little sister, Zuzu, who idolizes Holly and tries to make all of her toys into tripawds in Holly's honor. And she's enjoying life one hop at a time!
