Hi Brenda:
We are in Courtenay and just moved here from Newfoundland approx. 2 months ago. Our Chester is two years old and is a wonderful "Heinz 57" special. Please feel free to PM me. We have been proud Tripawd parents for just over a year. Chester is a rescue dog. Broken leg that the previous owners never fixed, so we adopted him and had his right rear leg removed. Hasn't stopped him...and we consider ourselves the lucky ones!!!
Hope to hear from you!
Chester's Mom, Bonnie
Hi there my dog Shorty is having his amputation tomorrow it is very sad for us. I was although very happy to see some people on Vancouver Island who shared our story. I would love to get Shorty together with other tripawds as soon as he heals and is ready to go. I will let you all know when that is I look forward to chatting with you about your stories too.

Hi Cassie and Shorty, thanks for joining us here. Your future posts won't require moderation.
I'm so glad you posted here, it would be fun to see you meet up with other local Tripawders. Keep posting here, and do tell us more about how he's doing after surgery. Good luck!

Hi Cassie & Shorty:
Where about are you on the island? I am more than happy to answer any questions or help out in anyway I can. Chester loves other dogs and would love to meet Shorty when he heals. You don't have to go through this alone and don't you worry, Shorty will be just fine...that I can promise...our tripawds can teach us a few things about just getting back up and carrying on! Please feel free to PM me if you want to meet or call me. It is always great to have someone who has been through it and this website and forum kept my sanity during the first few weeks! Seriously, don't hesitate to reach out.
You and Shorty will be in my thoughts tomorrow!
Cheers,
Bonnie
Hi Cassie:
I just sent you a PM...believe it or not we are in Courtenay as well! I want give you the first "post-surgery" tip...when you pick up Shorty tomorrow and you see him...look at him in his eyes first and show him how happy you are to see him. My husband and I did the wrong thing and we looked at Chester's incision first and we just started to cry like babies..both of us in the middle of the vet reception! Chester looked at us like "what is wrong?" However, all the girls loved Dave after that because he did not care who saw him crying (ha ha).
Cheers,
Bonnie
