Hi Everybody,
Zep's 4 month ampuversary is next week! This also happens to be the last of his 6 chemo treatments. So far so good, lung x-rays 3 weeks ago showed no signs of mets. He is getting back to be his silly self, makes it down to the park and back without rest, climbs in/ out of the creek and is very happy overall. I swear there were a few days early on where we questioned our decision to amputate, but he seems absolutely happy now. Absolutely no regrets.
The only thing that we struggle with now is that he outsmarts our attempts to hide his pills in his food. Cat food seems to be working now, he got tired of pill pockets, cheese, cream cheese etc.
He has had some infections, a tooth abces, skin issues and did fall a few weeks ago when we weren't home and broke some teeth (unfortunately his right bottom canine was included), but it doesn't seem to bother him. We hope to have as much happy quality time as possible.
Honestly I've kind of been avoiding the site and the forum since I saw Zeus passed and hadn't been able to bring myself to get going again.
I'll try to post some new pics and vids here soon
-Zep's pack.
Happy almost 4 month ampuversary! And the end to chemo - that is always a huge milestone. Hoping you have many ampuversaries to come. Keep on rockin', Zepplin!
Shanna & Spirit Trouble ~ Trouble gained her wings 3/16/2011, a 27 1/2 month cancer survivor, tail wagging. RIP sweetheart, you are my heart and soul. Run free at Rainbow Bridge.
The November Five - Spirits Max, Cherry, Tika, Trouble & Nova. 11/2008 - 3/2013 An era ends as Queen Nova crossed the Bridge.
Happy Ampuversary Zep! And being done with chemo is a great milestone too.
Hopefully when his immune system recovers those pesky infections will go away.
And Zep- stop that falling down and breaking teeth!! You need those choppers to get through all the ampuversary treats. Remember, you're supposed to get treats every month- remind your pack of the Tripawd celebration rules.
Looking forward to pics and vids.

Hey that's such great news! I wondered how Zep was doing, I'm so glad that other than the stumble he's doing well. Thanks for letting us know.
Don't feel bad about being gone. We've missed you, but my Momma remembers well the first time a Tripawd hero passed not too soon after I began fighting my cancer, and it hurt real bad. She can totally relate. Hearing about a loss really brings it home, and it's hard to face.
But we're glad you did come back to update us and can't wait to see some photos and video! Thank you for being here to inspire others during their own cancer journeys.

Happy Ampuversary Handsome Zep!!!!! Sorry to hear about your recent visit to the doggy dentist, but you sure look like a happy enough fellow (clever too for outsmarting the bipawds-- MB Tom wonders if they've tried wrapping the pills in smoked salmon-- yummy)
Scout: January 31, 2002 to November 7, 2011
Scout's diagnosis was "poorly differentiated sarcoma"; amputation 1/11/2011. Scout enjoyed 9 fantastic years on 4 legs and 9 glorious months on 3 legs. If love alone could have saved you…
