I just brought Wrigley back home. She spent the day with her surgeon
Dr. Richardson- ( god bless him, he came in on his day off). They
kept her up front with the ladies all day and said she was very alert.
Got up everytime a dog walked by, paid attention to everyone's
movements....Dr. Richardson took her for a walk and she had a big
healthy poop (good news cause she hadn't in a few days) Her rbc was
holding steady all day at 18-19 so he felt she was ok to come home. His
daughter Amy, the tech, offered to take her home with her to
watch her all night, but we all felt Wrigley would be better in her own
home. I have Amy's number to call tonight if I have any concerns at
all. They kept her wrap on and gave her a supplement Pet- Tinic to give
her as well as having me get her a prenatal FE iron supplement to give
to help boost her back. We will go back to Dr Richardson on Wed for a
re check.
So she's home and I am visualizing a great night.
Thanks again everyone for all the support.

I'm so glad Wrigley is home!!!
I love Pet-Tinic! We used it a lot in the racing kennels & I used it in the adoption kennel as well. It's a great supplement! We bought it by the gallon bottles..LOL!!

Happy New Year Everyone.
Wrigley's recheck went very well. I was very glad to get that confirmation from the vet, that all's ok. She had a pretty lethargic day yesterday so I was a little worried ( but not as bad as I would have been had I not had all the posts go re read that reminded me day 8 is kinda like that)
She did pop up off the seat when I pulled into the parking lot for Dr. Richardson-they treat her very well there. She is usually one to hate the vet.
Her PCV is still low, but not lower than it was so Dr. is not to worried. They changed her bandage, and checked to make sure there was no infection. Everything looked good, but they did change her antiobiotic. She will go back next week to recheck again. She is also scheduled to see the oncologist next week.
So, I'm taking a deep breath and taking it day by day and relying on you all to keep me sane. Thank you all very much for your support.
Have a wonderful New Year and may 2009 be filled with many blessings.

Sounds like Wrigley is doing much better and enjoying the attention from the vet! Trouble has always loved to go to the vet, they give her extra attention, ya' know.
Your positive attitude is shining through. That is just great. Glad you're not so worried anymore. This is tough, but in a couple of weeks, you'll be 'experienced' and taking it all in stride.
Wishing you and Wrigley the best 2009 ever.

You can definitely count on us to help keep you sane! Glad to hear that today went so well. Wrigley is one tough cookie.
Day eight? Pretty soon you'll be on day 28, and then 38 and so on. You'll look back and go "Wow, what was I so worried about?"
Happy 2009 to you too!

Yes, this vet has been very good to Wrigley ( and her family too).
We are new to them with our "special" situation, but like all of you,
they made us all feel like family. Can't wait till day 28 and 328.....
It
is easy not to worry so much when I know I can can't on all of you to
remind me - we get through this, and it aint so bad.....
Thanks again everyone- Happy New Year.
( Wrigley's fence friends Bandit and Rosie just sent over a big stuffed dog for her to lay with while she recoops)
