Hi all:
This is actually from my hubby. Tika is going to start on Palladia tomorrow since she has got her feet back under her again.
Who else is on Palladia? When did you start? How are things going? Lungs mets exist? Age of pup?
I would like to start a thread on how the treatment is working for everybody since we are pretty much the test subjects!
(...and maybe Jerry can help us get this organized on the boards?)
Right now Tika is dealing with some stomach problems and possible kidney/bladder infection so that is part of our starting point.
I've been not keeping up with the boards, so if somebody started this, please point me to the right direction and I'll post Tika's responses.
Thanks!

This is a good place to start the topic Kim. Palladia's been mentioned before, but no specific thread has been started as far as I can tell.

Yoda hasn't had it, but I've done some posting and asking about it because it was possibly going to be an option, but the necessary lab costs ended up being too expensive, and Yoda's oncologist didn't make it sound like a very good option anyway, so I would have had a difficult time deciding whether to pursue it or not if I had had the money.
We did some asking about it in the Ask A Vet Forum. Not sure I know now to share a link properly - http://tripawds.....9 (if that didn't work, the topic name is "Palladia"). We had a comment from someone whose dog had been on Palladia and gave their take on it, but if I recall correctly, it was a dog who had mast cell cancer rather than osteosarcoma.
I could also dig up the info my oncologist gave me on Palladia in an e-mail when I was still considering options - if you'd be interested I can post or PM what she had to say. That would just be another vet's perspective, rather than input from someone whose dog has taken it though.

That link worked fine, thanks! Here's another link to search results for Palladia mentioned here in the Tripawd Forums.

Hey thanks guys:
Tika will start her Palladia this evening, dosage of 130 mg which will go down if she shows GI troubles. Dr. Selting did give us lots of information about 'how it works' and is also interested on how it might affect the big mets Tika has because she's pretty positive that inhaled chemo won't get those guys.
One of the side effects besides the blood cell counts, GI, etc is that she might lose some pigmentation in her nose and other places. I think that's amusing in a way because every summer Tika loses pigmentation in her nose (it goes from black/brown to brown/pink) and I put sunscreen on it, which she then licks off an makes a face.
On the positive side, Tika hasn't coughed since the scary blood cough last weekend. So, I wonder what that means?
I will keep everybody posted on the Palladia!

Kim, everyone will certainly appreciate the updates about how she's handling the Palladia, so thank YOU for being so kind to take time out and post about it here.
Glad she's doing better! Paws crossed that that cough never, ever happens again.

Hi Kim, I was also curious about the Palladia, my girl has mast cell cancer and it was offered as an option for her. I was wondering about the side effects and tolerability etc. We go back to the vet next week to start chemo, I'm not sure what we are going to do. Please keep posting I'm sure there will be alot of interest from others as well.
