I'm sure I've heard this phenomena described before on the forums. The term is "second puppyhood," isn't it? Hurray for you - you have a new puppy!
Gerry has been a tripawd since 12/16/2009.
He was a shelter dog with a mysterious past and an irrepairable knee injury.

Well, I am not a trainer but I have to say that is pretty normal to me. Every time I tell people what my dogs can do in the form of tricks or whatever they act like they have never heard of it before. I think that is one of their comic relief moments, lets make mommy look crazy. Even if they have done it reliably for 10 years...."what mommy?" "What does sit mean?" "Shake???" "So confusing... I am just going to jump on this nice lady now, she must have treats in her purse too.."
I just try and understand that they aren't robots, they are terrorists. They are here to make sure I don't brag too much about how wonderful they are, they only want me to know it. Everyone else will just see a regular dog, I get to be the only one in on the secret, they are brilliant! Apparently they like to be under estimated 🙂

I couldn't begin to say how special Sammy is to us. Living and laughing with and loving this wonderful boy is priceless.
