Hi everyone!
Sorry I haven't been on here to update. I have been very busy taking care of my boy
He finally started chemo and got his staples out today! We had a little delay because last Thursday when they tried to insert the IV for the chemo he kept getting hematomas. The vet told me to stop all meds and supplements except the Gabapentin. So I did and today it all went well. We are not sure what was causing it. His new food has turmeric in it and I was giving him Mushroom powder and other supplements for his joints. I also read that Trazadone combined with NSAIDs can cause bleeding . Until it gets closer to the next chemo I am going to start the supplements again.
Anyway, he is doing pretty good all around. Somedays he likes to go out in the front yard when my neighbor walks my other greyhound. I let him walk a few houses down. Yesterday he even did his post pee back leg digging at the grass! I was so happy to see that. He isn't eating like he used to but some meals he eats quite a bit. I hope the chemo doesn't cause a decreased appetite but I know that it can.
So now we wait 3 weeks for the next round of chemo.
He looks very relaxed tonight. He still has a hard time figuring out how to lay down comfortably but he is getting it slowly but surely.
Thank you everyone for being here!

Hahaha.....that speaks volumes avout reclaiming his normal routines. This journey certainly makes us appreciate things that we barely even noticed before. We embrace very little nuance now with a standing ovation and a Hallelujah😎👏😊
It's not surprising that he may be a little picky with his food right now. The meds, ETC probably are messing with his tummy a little bit. You can ask the vet about an appetite stimulant if you feel like it's necessary.
Hugs
