Happy has two more weeks of radiation to go, out of 5! I think this last two will be smoother, but he is pretty tired of all this. We both can't wait to be back home in our own place. He has done well but he looks older, and his eyes are a little off..I don't know if this has to do with anything..He has been such a trooper, and just goes along with everything that is done to him. The vets feel good about his case, and everyone loves him up there, of course. Who could not love him? I have been focused on work since the internet is not good where I am staying, and the only time I am online is at Starbucks, and outside Starbucks in my car while I'm teaching..I have not even brought my personal computer with me! Thank you for the inquiries and I will be on more soon! Any Austinite tripawds want to meet up int he Spring sometime?
Robin and Happy
Yaaaay for Happy!
I have heard that some dogs will look older after chemo/radiation but I think that just means they are wiser than ever.
We're definitely up for a spring pawty. Should be back in the area in late March/early April. We'll keep ya posted.
Hope you get back to the real world with good Internet soon! Thanks for the update.

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. You're doing great Happy, keep it up! I know all this medical stuff can be tough on a guy. Keep your chin up, and it'll be over with before you know it. In the meantime, know that everyone here on Tripawds is keeping you in their thoughts, and sending healing wishes your way!
keep up the great work, stay strong, and you'll be home before you know it!!!! we are so proud of you!!!!!!!

Spirit Samson was Spirit Tripawd Daisys four legged "brother" and ruled as the self proclaimed head of the Monkeybutt Federations East Coast Division. Lady Chunky Monkey stayed from Oct 2011 and left for the bridge in Apr 2012. Miss Perdy is left and has some big pawprints to fill.

Yeah Happy!!! Lucy and I are so glad to hear you're almost done. Let us know ahead of time when it's good to get together and maybe we can take the long car ride down (from Dallas). After a good home rest I'm sure Happy will be ready for a pawty!
Take care,
Mary and Lucy
Lucy's front right leg was amputated 12/19/11. Thankfully there was no tumor, but her nerves were found to be degenerative. Life as a tripawd is Lucy's new adventure!!
Yay!! As hard as this journey has been for us, I cannot imagine having to go through it away from home and family. Homecoming is definitely cause for celebration! I will begin preparing the treat buffet well in advance....
Zeus was a Husky mix diagnosed with Osteosarcoma at age 11. A visible lung met and suspicious spot on his liver meant a poor prognosis-six weeks was our vet's best guess. We decided to fight for our boy and his right front leg was amputated on 12/1/11. We did six rounds of chemo, changed his diet and spoiled him completely rotten. We were blessed with 10 great months after diagnosis. Against the odds, the lung met remained a single met and grew very little over those months. A wonderful furbaby with the most gentle spirit, he fought with a strength that we never imagined he possessed. We have no regrets...

Oh you are so close now-- well done Happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!! By the way, I love your smiling picture; I see why you are named Happy. And we are so very HAPPY for you and hope you are walking around Zilker really soon! You certainly are a trooper!
Scout: January 31, 2002 to November 7, 2011
Scout's diagnosis was "poorly differentiated sarcoma"; amputation 1/11/2011. Scout enjoyed 9 fantastic years on 4 legs and 9 glorious months on 3 legs. If love alone could have saved you…
