Dr just called and said he is so impressed with Abbee's recovery at her 2 week mark. She is doing remarkable. This news just warms my heart.
Best part is...
He said all test show she is now 100% cancer FREE!!! Her tumor was a grade 2 tumor that was aggressive in form. The results said clean margins would have been hard to achieve anywhere on the body... I'm am so thankful I chose to amputate. There is also no lymph node involvement.
If it wasn't for the support of this community then I would've assumed amputation to not be an option. But after reading everyone'a stories about the happy lives tripods go on to live, I felt it was my best option. Thank you all so much for your continued support you give to us Pawrents, even after your fur babies have passed on. You have literally given my Abbee a chance of a happy normal lifespan. I will never by able so say thank you enough.
YAY!!!!!! great news!
TY GUY, Best Black Lab ever! Diagnosed and had amp in January, 2014. Kicked MRSA's butt. Earned his angel wings on April 16, 2014. Run Free my boy and don't forget a shoe. Ty is a proud member of the " April Angels". Ty sent us Daryl, a Tripawd rescue in Sept. of 2016. Daryl is 5 +or -. We are also Pawrents to Chandler, a Border Collie mix who is 15 and 1/2, Lucy, a Corgi who is 7, 2 minis, 2 horses, and a feisty cat named Zoe. Zoe had a non skeletal Osteosarcoma removed in July 2015. No Chemo, she was at least 16. She is going strong although she is now completely blind. She is now close to 20 and her hobbies are eating and sleeping in front of her personal heater.
WOW.... what wonderful news! Congrats! We are all so happy for you!!!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
Oh YESSSS! This is the best news in the world, congratulations! No more waiting or worrying, it's over. Yipeee!
We look forward to many more hoppy adventures with you and Abbee, keep us posted

Sally and Happy Hannah
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Hooray, Abbee! We knew you could do it!
Kathi and Murphy
Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!
UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!
Excellent report! I'm thrilled that Abbee is doing so well.
Not to be a wet blanket, but please remain vigilant checking Abbee for bumps. Mast cell is a sneaky, nasty bastard. I truly hope that this is Abbee's only encounter with mast cell. I wish someone had warned me to keep checking Maggie after her first tumor was removed.

Yes I will continue checking her each day. I will also continue her home cooked diet and cancer fighting supplements, herbs and mushrooms for the rest of her life. I'm hoping now that her allergies are under control ( since she is off kibble) her body's histamine release ( which is what a mast cell is from) will be controlled. Little Maggie's story is what made me go ahead and schedule Abbee's surgery and be proactive. Thank you Karen. You have made a big difference in the way I originally was going to treat my Abbee, (which was all holistically.) I will continue her holistic allergy control and I hope this fights off any future tumors from forming.
Great!
Another thing to add to your arsenal- if Abbee ever has cutaneous tumors appear is a herb called Blood's Palace, I don't have it here so I don't know the Chinese name. My quad pug Tani has many MCTs in addition to really high platelet counts. She has had tumors popping up for years, I stopped taking them off last year because they kept coming. She has been on this herb for many months and I haven't seen her tumors! I have found some information on line about the herb and its use in treating cutaneous MCTs.
I'm so glad you found Maggie's story helpful. I'll be smiling all day!
