How do you know when too much is too much? Bubba is doing so good and wants to play. What are the most common causes of ripped stitches and popped staples? Last night we took our eye off of him for a sec and he jumped up on the couch.. Quite effortlessly, I might add. Later he jumped down on his own with no indication of pain. Is he doing to much? It's hard to keep a good dog down I guess.
Well that crazy pup! Yep, keeping them calm is a big challenge especially when it comes to young dogs. During the first two weeks he should only be going on leashed potty walks to the back yard, and no real horseplay while at home. Stitches and stapes come undone and seromas happen with too much activity so do your best to keep his mind working with interactive dog games (http://amazon.t.....dogs-cats/) which do a safer job tiring him out. Sometimes they do crazy stuff like jumping on the couch, just do what you can to minimize letting it hapen. He sure sounds like he's doing well!

Wow...I just looked at those interactive dog toys and Bubba would love them. He is so smart, I bet it would keep him busy for a long time. It's really hard to keep him calm when we have 5 cats.. 2 which are young and playful, and another small dog who is an instigator. We don't have room for him to have his own space... Our house is really small. I'm sure we will work it out. Thank you
That Bubba is too much!! He sounds exactly like my Polly after her amp......she was only 5 days out of amp surgery and same thing, left the living room for 10 seconds and came back in and found Polly up on the sofa lying down, looking at me like, yep, I'm comfy, no big deal, please can I stay here??? She was always very graceful and cautious but we still assisted her down off everything, always, with her being a front amp.
So glad Bubba is doing well, and active, but Jerry gave great advice on too much activity right now, too soon after surgery......hard to keep a young pup from being active, however, it is best to contain him as much as possible.
Best wishes for a smooth recovery, keep us posted on him,
Bonnie & Angel Polly
Oh so the cats are his interactive games?!
You'll figure something out. We live in a RV so I know how challenging it can be in a small space!

BUUUUUUBBBBBBBBAAAAAAA! No jumping or playing tennis with the cats!!! You're supppsed to be recovering from major surgery and learning n how to adjust to three legs!!! Guess nobody told you that, huh?
Soooooo happy that ubba is having a smooth recovery! Hesw such a great fun dog!
Yeah, my little 14 pound dog named Bodie would just give Happy Hannah "a look" and she would move her 125 pund self off the sofa and Bodie would jump up and claim it as his own.
Hugs to all!
