OMD!!! CHY IS ADORABLE!!! SMOOOOOCH....SMOOCHING THAT CUTE CHY RIGHT THRU THE SCREEN! Such aa precious photo! Oh, and the incision looks good too!
Helping her up is not babying her at all at this point. The one back leg is doing the nob thst two used to do! And good for you doing the massages. The muscles are tense and strained right now as they adust ro a new way of walking
Eating, drinking, all good!!
It was nust muself and my little 14 lb dog on our hiur ride home with my 125 lb Happy Hannah. She wss SCREAMING and all over the place in the car!!! It was NOT fun!! And poor thi g, as I'm trying ro help her out of the car, she literally sarted peeing the seco d her front foot hit the ground. Aside from the drigs snd surgery, she was also YELLING, "I HAVE TO PEE! STIP THE CAR!"
Now the hospital meds will be out of her system in a other day or so, and that's when managing the pain can become tricky.
You're doing an EXCELLENT job! Hang tough! You've got this!
Hugs
Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Awww I want to smooch her! Yes, it's hard not to baby them but it's really for the best. Chy will be stronger and happier because of it in the long run. I hope today is a good day for both of you.
I started an album for her recovery process; I figure a picture is worth a thousand words and I hope it may help someone in the future.
Such a sweet pic. Mind if I share it in our Tripawds Gallery?

@Jerry, use any pics that you'd like
@Sally, LOL! I think some of chy's whining was also a little fretting about needing to tinkle. She made a b-line for her spot in the yard immediately after we got her out of the car.
@Camille and Sarah, I hope your babies are doing well this evening. I've been following their posts, and it seems like things are going pretty smooth for Gus and Otis. Totally loved those video's of Gus!
I am so, SO PROUD, of my girl today! She still had some trouble lifting her body up with her rear leg this morning, but you could tell she was trying so hard. We've gone out to go potty a couple of times today, and even had her first bowel movement post-surgery. It was a little tough for her as it was a bit soft, and she's one of those dogs that likes to do the poo-and-walk (sorry, TMI! ). That's a tricky thing to do right now.
Our big news for the day is, this afternoon Chy walked all the way from the living room to the back door all on her own!! She also got a little spry on her latest trip outside when she made a mad dash to go in the bushes...I can tell it's time to start taking ol' missy poo out with a leash.
Tonight, she's trippin' on Tramadol. She seemed to be in some pain this afternoon, so I decided to give her some (Chy currently has a fentanyl patch, gets Rimadyl 2x daily, and Tramadol as needed until the patch comes off, then 3x daily). She's been panting off and on since then, but seems to be settling down for a quick nap before dinner.

As each day passes you will notice more and more moments like this and they will absolutely make your heart feel like it's going to burst because you're so proud! Give Chy an extra snuggle from us! But also, tell her get in all the sleep she needs 😉
That Tramadol is something, isn't it? Panting attack and anxiety ensued a few hours after I gave it to her. Totally different than how she's been on her Rimadyl and Fentanyl patch.
Other than her spill today, things have been going pretty good. My biggest battle has been getting her to just sleep and relax; she just wants to go, go, go while awake. She managed to break out of her "infirmary" to get to the other water dish and her favorite spot under the kitchen table. I'm really hoping she has a sleepy day tomorrow to give her muscles a break.
Hey, Kayla - I‘ve switched my updates to the new "Gus, Otis and Chy“ forum that Jackie made for us under "hopping around“ 🙂
Gus is a total couch potato - so he‘s pretty happy to just lay around most of the day normally 🙂
