TJ is a handsome pup!
Tomorrow will be a great day when he comes home. I hope that his recovery is smooth and uneventful. He sure looks like a laid-back pup, so hopefully it'll be easy on both of you.
And Wendy is right, in a few weeks you'll forget what he ever looked like with four legs, you'll just be so happy to have him happy and with you.

I have a big 8x11 of that photo on my desk. Yeah, the shaking and whining really had me worried at the vets... but everyone is saying its normal and should go away as he heals up.
I spent most of the day getting the house in order and washing lots of t-shirts for TJ to wear... I figure I'll be going through quite a few the first week or two.
Sleeping on the couch will be new for me.... but at least I'll be downstairs with TJ. His normal spot is 'left leg'. But the new cushion on the floor next to the couch will have to do.... I fully expect to be on the floor with him for the first few days.
Family is excited.. the photo's really got them excited. I'm excited to have him back... just waiting for the call to go fetch him.
TJ's a lucky pup to have you. Yes, the anxiousness is because of the meds, the surgery, most all dogs experience that.
When he comes home, one thing to keep in mind is that the faster you "normalize" your routine, the faster he can recovery. Check out some of these videos and interviews with California Animal Rehab, they talk about recovery and why it's important to be "normal" again. It's hard but you can do it!

Homecoming day! Good for TJ. Such a sweet face. Libby wore modified t-shirts for about a week and it helped keep the incision clean. I know everyone else has said it and it's true...you will be amazed at how well TJ adjusts to his new normal.
Liberty (Libby) was diagnosed with OSA on 1-22-13. Right front amputation on 1-31-13. No IV Chemo. Metronomic Therapy started 2-19-13 along with supplements and some home cooking. Lungs clear until 1-06-14. She's still her happy, hoppy, bossy self. Living the dog life to the fullest and a proud Winter Warrior. :) RIP my Libby 4-21-03 to 3-19-14

Everyone is looking forward to having him home (3 days with no TJ is a loonnngggg time) but not sure how hard the realization of having a tripawd dog in the house is going to hit.
We area all on hot standby and no one is to be less than 10 minutes from the house in case I need them

What a handsome boy!!!! And it will just amaze you how much more handsome and cuter they become as a Tripawd!! Glad to hear that everything went well!! He will do just fine.. it's you that will need care!!! lol We have all been there.. some recoveries are easier than others.. and some have a difficult time but get through it for the better. My Franklin was the model patient.. he was absolutely perfect.. tail wagged constantly for my happy go lucky guy... He never had the whimpering, the phantom pain , the yelps... nothing. He walked to the truck a day and a half after the operation. Mind you.. he was all bandaged up in pretty cool colors! And his incision was very small considering he lost a limb. I was expecting this huge roadmap on his side.. but nopt.. just a small gravel road. lol
Take lots of pictures.. and post them here.. in TJ's blog.. it helps others to know what to expect and to learn.
Christine.... with Franklin in her heart ♥
Franklin, he was the Happiest Dog on Three Legs! Diagnosed 09/26/2012 with Osteosarcoma, amputated 12/4/2012. Had a wonderful 5 1/2 months painfree until he ran for the Bridge on 5/15/2013. Always in my heart, and always a guardian angel of my pack... You can follow his Tripawd Adventures, before and after, in my blog, Frank'n'Farter!
Yay TJ. Glad to hear you get to come home today. Like everyone has said there are some up & downs but mostly ups. Keeping going TJ you are a fighter.

So happy to heat TJ is coming home today. Snoop was a high for about two days making us think wow he's gonna coast brought this. Then we came down and hit a couple of bumps, but those bumps you realize are normal. Take one day at a time. Try to rest and sleep when he does so you don't blow yourself out. You will be amazed as he keeps getting stronger. When I had surgery my Dr said to me your going to hurt a bit to get better, and he was right. What's amazing is how incredible they are with this, and what they show and teach us. Last being as normal is important for him and for you. Otherwise all we do is live cancer,it's not healthy or good.we get stuck.
Will be thinking and sending good wishes to you and your TJ and your family.
There's no place like home! There's no place like home!! I think TJ is in for a lot of lovin' and huggin' tonight.
