As we all learned, I am a lucky one with a dog that's been pooping well from day one. However, we've had some issues with sporadic poops (or accidental poops). basically little poop drops here and there. I just called her vet to make sure she was OK and they said if it continues to bring Shelby in but most likely it's the way she's readjusting her bowels and abdomen to new way of sitting and possible when she's outside doing her business, she isn't fully eliminating. Not sure if anyone else has ever experienced this. But I am careful to look where I step right now!
Poor baby ... I feel bad for her. This has got to be uncomfortable for her too.

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
Sounds like your vet has a good handle on what's going on and why. The fact that she's not fuly elimimating while trying to adjust to everything else makes sense. Top it all off with pain meds sounds like the "perfect poo storm"!
Also' from your other post and at the time, the "poop accident" had only happened once during the night. You thought she tried to wake you up by whining and bumping around to get you to let her out to "do her bidness". So, if that's the cse it may not even be the "adjustment" as much as she needed to go amd was trying to hold it!
Either way, it doesn't sound like anythingto worry about.
Shelby, sorry to be discussing your bowel movements so publicly..... it's just because we care!!
Hugs to Mom and Shelby!

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Hmmm. I know that older dogs have this problem a lot. I'm hoping someone with a senior pup can chime in?
