It's been three weeks since Storm had his amputation. All in all he is doing really well, he has adjusted to life on three legs, is happy to use the ramp to get into and out of the car and doesn't even give the doorstep a scone thought. He still has a bit of bruising but no swelling and his wound has healed well. He hasn't had any adverse reaction to the chemo but is having a blood test on Monday to see what's going on in anticipation of his next treatment in a fortnight. Our biggest problem is stopping him overdoing it, he asks for his walk every day and here he is enjoying it.
Storm looks great!!!
Donna, Glenn & Murphy
Murphy had his right front leg amputated due to histiocytic sarcoma at 7 years old. He survived 4 years, 2 months & 1 week, only to be taken by hemangiosarcoma at 11 1/2 years 6/12/17

Wonderful news. So happy for you all! He looks great.
Active 10+ Pyr mix suddenly came up lame with ACL tear in left rear leg. Scheduled for a TPLO but final pre-op x-rays indicated a small suspicious area, possibly OSA, which could have caused the ACL tear. Surgeon opened the knee for TPLO but found soft bone. Biopsy came back positive for OSA. Became a Tripawd 9/18/14. Carbo6 with Cerenia and Fluids. Pain free and living in the moment. Crossed the Bridge on 7/12/15 after probable spread of cancer to her cervical spine. A whole lifetime of memories squeezed into 10 months. Here's her story: Eloise
I am so glad to hear Storm is doing well. What a handsome boy. That mark on his side looks like a big heart. How is the panting? We are 10 days behind you in recovery and my boy, Anjing pants the whole time he is up walking but recovers quickly when he stops.
hugs to you and Storm
STORM!! You DO have HEART nestled in y our fur!! OMD !!! I love that!! Your heart is so big it had to expand outside onto your fur!! Talk about being a "heat dog".....
Storm is recovering so nicely. I know it is just delightful to watch his sparkle start to come back...and it only gets better!!
ANJING...panting while being mobile is perfectly normal. It take a lot of exertion for a tripawd to walk, especially the first several weeks as all his muscles are adjusting. He's at about ten days home, right? He still needs to be getting plenty of rest and not doing much more than just goingmout to potty. It could be pain related still. Of course, if you have any concerns, cotact your vet.
Sending lots of love to all!

Hi Anjingsmom,
i hope that Anjing is doing well, it's a worrying time isn't it?
The panting seems to be getting better, he stil pants when on the move but not as much as he was, it's cooled down here too so that helps.
He has got a heart on his coat, we've always called him a love sponge cos he is so affectionate and that's where he keeps the excess lol
Gosh I didn't even see the heart mark on his chest before. So cute. Now that is a heart-dog!

paula and nitro
Nitro 11 1/2 yr old Doberman; right front amp June 2014. Had 6 doses carboplatin, followed by metronomic therapy. Rocked it on 3 legs for over 3 years! My Warrior beat cancer, but couldn't beat old age. He crossed the Bridge peacefully on July 25, 2017, with dignity and on his terms. Follow his blog entitled "Doberman's journey"
