Yay Zeus! Wishing you many, many more anniversaries in the future.
Kathy & Tasha
Tasha was a German ShepherdBorder Collie mix who was diagnosed with OSA at age 8. On December 29, 2011 she had her front right leg amputated and received 4 rounds of chemo. Sadly and suddenly Tasha became sick and we discovered she had liver cancer that had spread to her lung. After almost 19 months, Tasha earned her wings on July 17, 2013. No regrets and never forgotten.
Awesome Zeus!! Lucy is almost at 3 months too and it does seem like such a long time ago. We are living happy and are close to feeling "normal". We'll have fries in your honor this week!!
Mary and Lucy
Lucy's front right leg was amputated 12/19/11. Thankfully there was no tumor, but her nerves were found to be degenerative. Life as a tripawd is Lucy's new adventure!!
Wow Zeus, you are doing great! Congratulations! You have kicked butt and taken names, and you have the nicest smile ever!
Keep doing whatever you're doing so we can keep celebrating with you!
Shari and Dakota and Evelyn the Embarrassment
From abandoned puppy to Tripawd Warrior Dude, Dakota became one of the 2011 February Furballs due to STS. Our incredibly sweet friend lived with grace and dignity till he impulsively raced over the Bridge on 12-15-12.
Dakota's thoughtful and erudite blog is at http://shari.tr.....pawds.com/
YAY! Zeus! Here's a big 3 in your honor!
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Thank you all. The support and encouragement from all of you just means the world to us. Since Zeus was already feeling a little off-kilter he did not get fries on his ampuversary, so mama is making him some tonight (with steak). Better late than never!
WBCs were back to normal yesterday, so they we able to proceed with chemo. Dr. R said that he reduced the dose some to try and avoid the drastic drop that caused us to delay the last two treatments by a week. Hopefully it will help. He already seemed a bit cruddy last night but I'm hoping he's just tired from being at the vet for four hours. Seems a tad bit better today.
Thank you Karen - he makes me smile quite often, too!
And, thank you Lord for another day...
Lisa
Zeus was a Husky mix diagnosed with Osteosarcoma at age 11. A visible lung met and suspicious spot on his liver meant a poor prognosis-six weeks was our vet's best guess. We decided to fight for our boy and his right front leg was amputated on 12/1/11. We did six rounds of chemo, changed his diet and spoiled him completely rotten. We were blessed with 10 great months after diagnosis. Against the odds, the lung met remained a single met and grew very little over those months. A wonderful furbaby with the most gentle spirit, he fought with a strength that we never imagined he possessed. We have no regrets...
