Hello, does this happen sometimes (she is really a heavy dog and is using that leg especially to carry the whole left side) or is it really a bad sign that Horacias back leg is swollen and that you can feel the lymph node?
I am really scared. The progress was so promising till now.

Hopefully this is nothing. If you don't hear from Tazziedog, consider getting her professional opinion in the Ask A Vet forum.

I don't know if lymph nodes are the same in dogs as they are in people, but when we are fighting infection, our lymph nodes get super swollen. I was in a panic for about a week once when I felt all these big lumps in my neck, but it turns out it was just a cold! Hopefully it's the same in dogs and it's just a sign that Horacia is fighting something. Keep us posted!! I saw the pictures on your blog, and they are gorgeous!!! You must be quite a proud mom 🙂

How big is the lymph node? Even in a giant dog it should be smaller than a grape. If larger she could be fighting infection or inflammation. This soon after amputation it would be very rare to see cancer in another leg or lymph node. If it persists your vet can do a fine needle aspirate to check the cells.
Pam and Tazzie
Pam, of course, is our expect, so it has to be reassuring for her to say it is unlikely to be cancer. I would call my vet though in case Horacia is fighting an infection.

Thank you so much for your answers.
Pam, the node in her leg is about as big as a ping pong ball, maybe smaller, her leg is still swollen. I will follow your advice and take her to check out the cells if this keeps up.
thanks again.
