Hi everyone,
It's been sometime since I've posted - but have certainly been keeping watch to see how everyone is doing
Happy holidays to you all.
This is a bit of an usual post - but I'd like to put a request up for some encouraging and supportive words to be sent to Boston and his family here in WA (Australia!).
Boston is a 6 year old Great Dane who is undergoing a rear leg amputation today following a recent diagnosis of OSA. I know that his family have been on and reading tripawds - and I thought it would be nice for a few encouraging words to be sent their way
And particularly, I suspect they would love to hear from Dane parents
(Jerry / Admin - feel free to move this post elsewhere if better suited to another topic).
I'll post a separate update elsewhere on my news!
Kirsty, Boots and Angel Peda xx
Prayers for a speedy Recover to Boston. And if they have any questions we would be more than willing to answer them.
Good luck.
Kirsty its good to hear from you
Hugs

Nice to hear from yoj and how very ki d f you t reach out to Boston!
There are certainly a lot of "Dane Pawrents" here who will respond but I just wanted to say we are ALL here for yo and we understand the fear this whole process causes!
And we also u derstand that once the recovery process is over and Voston's sparkle comes back, you will be amazed at how well he does!
Remember, Boston doesn't care about any ole' diagnosis! He's not worried about a thing! He is living in the moment...the nw...the present...that's called "beng more dog" around nere! Yoj, also, will learn to live like yor dog and just enjoy the NOW!
Let NOTHING rob :you of this sacred time you jave together! Lve, spoil and love and spoil sme mre! Boston will be so hapy to have that panful leg gone, he and you, will forget he even had a fourth leg!
Now, recovery from major srgery ks no picnic. So etmes larger dgs need mlre recovery tk e than lthers. Stay glued to ths site and let us help you in anyway we can. YO ARE NOT ALONE! We are right by yor side, okay? For three weeks I second guessed my decision and thought "What have I dne TO my dog?" I can now GLEEFULY tell you that Happy Hannah just celebrated her ten mnth ampiversary and is moving forward (knocking on wood over here)! I am nlw soooooo grateful did this FOR my dog!! Our tkme togetjer is jist glorious!! Pure bliss! Every second is a sacred treasur!
Please stay connected t us and let us help n anyway we can. Oh! And you MUST send photos! We love photos arond here
You are a wo cerful advocate for Boston, and "Peda" is a wonderful advocate for you!!
And when you pick Boston up frm the surgery...just ignore the sjrgery site and look into thse happy eyes...albeit glazed over from drugs...and praise him and let him kiss your face all over and watch his tail wag! All is well and know this to be true!
In the meantme, eat lots of chocoate...take a chocolate bubble bath and you'll be jist as relaxed as Boston!
Surro ding yo with serenity,
Sally and Happy Hannah
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Best wishes for Boston's speedy recovery! There are plenty of success stories here in the forums and the blogs of Danes doing well on three legs.
Please feel free to keep us updated in this topic until B is back on his feet.

Boston's pawrents certainly found the right place to come!! I'm sure they will learn so much being here that will help Boston get back up on those three paws and be himself again!
Wishing you a speedy, easy recovery Mr. Boston!! Keep us updated and let us know how he is doing!
Christine..... with Franklin in her heart♥
Franklin, he was the Happiest Dog on Three Legs! Diagnosed 09/26/2012 with Osteosarcoma, amputated 12/4/2012. Had a wonderful 5 1/2 months painfree until he ran for the Bridge on 5/15/2013. Always in my heart, and always a guardian angel of my pack... You can follow his Tripawd Adventures, before and after, in my blog, Frank'n'Farter!
Hi Kirsty, Boots, Angel Peda, Boston and Family,
How is Boston doing?? I hope you all got through the toughest week without to many issues,
Sorry I missed your post, I too have a recovering patient in Perth! Terra had his surgery on the 20th Dec and has recovered well besides a minor infection although it was definitely a tough 1st week for us.
Please feel free to contact me if you want a chat about anything, it would be great to meet Boston and the gang down the track, It seems you have got some experience yourself Kirsty and it would be great to talk to someone who has been though this before.
Regards, Brendan.
Hi Brendan and Terra, welcome! We're glad Terra is recovering pretty well, please keep us posted.
It seems we're getting more and more members from Down Under, wouldn't it be great if there was a Tripawd pawty in your part of the world?

Hi Brendan & Terra,
Welcome to you both - very glad you found us!
I'm pleased to report that the last update I had from Boston's parents is that he is doing very well ... it sounds like he has taken to 3 legs like a duck to water and I saw some great video of him up and about two days post-op.
Brendan - where in Perth are you? I'm glad to hear Terra is now on the mend - sorry to hear it was a bit if a rough time. What led to Terra needing surgery?
I'm certainly happy to have a chat - and I have to say everyone here on the forums were amazingly supportive when I started my journey with Peda over 18 months ago.
Look forward to hearing from you
Kirsty
