Super Stu! Otis and I were trying to catch up with old friends on Tripawds tonight and we just wanted to say we are thinking about you and wishing you endless hedgies and no more "off" days!
Also thanks to all of the conversation on this thread about CBD. I was considering that as a supplement for Otis and I leaned so much!

Stewie is flat out on the floor enjoying his deep sleep after his spa day today! He is showing even more pep today and Miss Leslie and I are definitely accounting a lot of this to the Milk Thistle!
Spike is showing such fantastic improvement it is hard for us to knock the benefits of CBD so far, but we are still soooo early in His personal trial. As for Stewie, right now we have the luxury of not being rushed into making a decision for him, we can do further research.

Hi everyone
So i just wanted to let you all know how our Super Stewie is doing these days...
He is Ruvin his beautiful spring daze and he will have some great pictures and some video on his next Ampuversary blog. We are giving our boy his Milk Thistle everyday and he looks forward to his little bit of ‘spiked’ kitty food every morning. All the better to set him up for adding in his CBD oil when we start.
We are asking people tons of questions and have more lined up for our dispensary when we see them in a couple of weeks.
I have also informed our vet regarding Spikes dosing and I am updating as i go along, as well as what we choose to do for Stewie. As my vet clinic put it, there are lots of vets that are completely for the use of CBD, but the Canadian Veterinary Association will not allow them to prescribe any such things yet...
It will be a tricky discussion for a while i think, as there are so few clinical animal trials to show the possible benefits as well as the possible dangers to the use of the Cannabidiol products for our pets.
Paul and i are willing to try, for the sake of our fur babies comfort, to use trial and hopefully little error, the use of CBD therapy and hope that it can give us more comfortable time with our kids!
Spitfire Spikey is also doing super well! Since introducing him onto the CBD we have seen marked improvements in our old fella!
For our purposes with Spike, the CBD oil certainly appears to be working much more ‘clearly’ for spike, rather than the ‘drugged out’ Metacam. By that i mean that he is far more alert when he is up and about. We were thrilled to see him play with the Meow toy that Miss Holly sent and he is totally interested in his catnip again! He spends far more time upstairs with us and sleeping in his favourite spots again.
He is eating more and is enjoying his petting again. I even managed to get a (very ruff) shave done on his body, getting rid of some built up mats in his fur. His bum is next on the shavedown agenda, much to his chagrin!
He hasn’t peed his bed since starting his CBD, except for one very strange incident where he just stood on the middle of the living room and pulled a Steve Martin moment (from the movie Dirty Rotten Scoundrels) and just peed!
We are watching him closely for other odd behaviours as this could be a sign of other issues. Such as Holly pointed out to me as being a possible Urinary Tract Infection.
He is also loving the sunshine and he is going outdoors to suntan on every occasion he can!

This is definitely Spikey’s little miracle... I do hope this continues to work! We are only 3 weeks in and I can hope that he maintains how he is with is us these days Miss Holly!
I agree fingers crossed 🤞 🙏 for no UTI’s!!! So far I am super pleased to report no more peeing accidents since!

Maybe by June Toasty McBoaty will be in the lake again, maybe in time for Stewie’s 11 Month Ampuversary, but definitely not in time for his 10 month celebrations. He will have other exciting things to celebrate instead! 😘

I love the sunbeam pics. Must not show Rusty as he is not allowed outside and he will become quite jealous of those particular sunbeam locations.

Rusty "The Bunnyman" adopted us in 2014. Aug/Sept 2017, back left leg amputated (HSA cancer). He remained cancer free over 900 days. Cancer returned as of emergency visit on day 931. 15 days later, he gained his wings 04/18/2020 due to congestive heart failure. He will always watch over his fellow tripawds and their hoomins with Head Scritches and Sand Paper Kisses.

This is definitely an unregulated world that I am stepping into Gina... it is a world of unknowns! Thankfully, so far, (and I really am touching wood!) we have found a CBD source that we can count on! But of course it doesn’t end there... we have to tread very carefully with Spike to ensure that we are not doing him more harm than good.
I am truly grateful that we have received such great results and am being cautiously optimistic about its long term use for both Spikey and Stewie!

As you all know by now, i am in the ‘trial & minimal error’ phase of trying out CBD on my elderly ‘arthritic’ cat who is also in slow decline with Renal failure. It is important to know that so few studies have been published in order to help us help our pets with CBD products, never mind how THC can harm our pets too! CBD and THC do not cure Cancer!!
The reason that I am sharing my story here is so that others can at least see the possibility of finding some comfort in the use of CBD for our pets. If you are considering using CBD, please talk with your vet and let them know what you are doing. That way everypawdy is on the same page!

I know Mitchell is a dog and they are all affected differently, but after seeing your post on how well Spike is doing, Mitchell is also much better on the CBD. It did not help his incontinence but he is so much brighter, more attentive, and active. I can't control the peeing but he seems more comfortable. He gets it once a day first thing in the morning before breakfast.
