Darlene,
We are wishing you lots of peace and love with whatever decision you have to make during this difficult time. I'm sure Tehya will keep going strong with all the love and support she has from you. Lots of hugs to you and Teyha from across the border. Kami and Mackenzie
My sweet golden Mackenzie. She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2 although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home. She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009. She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes. I love you Mackenzie!
Darlene, you and Teyha are in my thoughts. This is a difficult time for you, but all of us are here to support you. Your wisdom and strength will guide you.
Shanna & Spirit Trouble ~ Trouble gained her wings 3/16/2011, a 27 1/2 month cancer survivor, tail wagging. RIP sweetheart, you are my heart and soul. Run free at Rainbow Bridge.
The November Five - Spirits Max, Cherry, Tika, Trouble & Nova. 11/2008 - 3/2013 An era ends as Queen Nova crossed the Bridge.
In response to Jack's post I think that a mushroom supplement like K9 Immunity or Power Mushrooms is fine but I would ask your oncologist about any other supplements/antioxidants since some of those may interfere with chemo.

Dear Tehya and Darlene,
I can't offer any help with information about soft tissue sarcoma, but just want you to know we will continue to hold you both in our hearts and prayers. And we are sending lots and lots of hugs across the border to you... and Holly send lots of doggie kisses, too. I hope all goes well on Thursday with the oncologist and that you will get answers to your questions and find a path that makes sense for Tehya.
Hugs,
Susan and Holly
Holly joined the world of tripawds on 12/29/2009. She has a big little sister, Zuzu, who idolizes Holly and tries to make all of her toys into tripawds in Holly's honor. And she's enjoying life one hop at a time!

Hello to everyone from sunny Vancouver the home of the spring oops I mean winter Olympics that are scheduled to start on Friday. Our city is alive with tourists and news media I must say it is pretty exciting. There I have done my tourist promotion for today.
After much reading and soul searching we have decided to give Tehya the blast of chemo tomorrow to see if we can slow down those dreaded mets. As well once again she is showing us that she isn't ready to cross over the bridge. On the weekend we had her out on the front street visiting with all of the neighbors (some of whom had yet to see her with three legs) and my gosh she was like a puppy. She even is trying to chase her tail forgetting of course that she goes off balance pretty quickly.
We are keeping everything crossed for our precious Tehya and will keep you posted on her progress. Once again thank you so much for all of the support that you have been giving us.
Darlene
Good luck to our Tripawd Olympian! Paws are crossed down here in California. Keep us posted.

Well yesterday I got my first big blast of Doxorubicin. I got sent home with Pepto Bismol caplets, Cerenia and Metroclopramide just incase I get sick in the next few days. Here's hoping I don't cuz I don't like the names of these drugs can only imagine what they taste like! I was a bit late getting out to come home cuz I had to stop and give all the vet techs cuddles before I left. I sure do like those girls!!! Today I am curled up in front of the fireplace with my Dad who has a bad cold now from getting soaked watching the torch relay yesterday. Tonight we are all excited for the Olympic opening ceremonies! A good way to forget that I am supposed to be sick!
Hi Tehya
I hope you are feeling okay. I needed the Cerenia when I had Doxy (one shot before chemo, two pills the next 4 days) to prevent nausea, which was only obvious because I loss my appetite. It was easier to prevent than to get rid of it. In any case, I got my appetite back after a few days, so it was not a major concern.
Have a good weekend watching the Olympics in front of your fireplace.
Thanks for the update! Best wishes for worry-free treatments. We look forward to hearing how it goes.
