Awww I love these pics!
Knowing how great the docs are your clinic are, I would go with their suggestion to keep an eye on it. Have you discussed senior dog behavioral issues with them at all? From what I've read, wandering and pacing for seemingly no reason is a common occurrence in senior dogs. Here's a great book about that:

A friend of mine lent me this book when Shelby first got sick ....It brought me a lot of comfort in knowing Shelby that it wasn't 'time to say goodbye' - and I do recall reading about "Old Dog Syndrome". I'll have to re-read that section this evening. Great ... so BOTH of us has age-induced insomnia! Good times! 🙂
Shelby Lynne; Jack Russell/Shiba Inu mix. Proud member of the April Angels of 2014.
October 15, 2000 to April 8, 2014
Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
Oh FABULOUS, I'm so glad you read it! I'm not crazy about the nutritional advice in the book but overall it gave me a real good glimpse of things to expect in the senior years.
Age-induced insomina? You?! Too funny!

YAY! Got my Shelby picture fix to start out the day! Love her!
Yeah, you don't sleep as well and you do toss and turn more at night as we "age"!
Love that she's scared of her own poots!! That could definitely be a reason she gets up and tries to move away quickky from her own butt! Great story!
Love and hugs!
Sally and Happy Hannah
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Oh Shelby you are SO cute! Jake used to do the same, just jump up like he got twitch. If you are worried about eating too fast, I found a wonderful thing called a busy bowl. Tanner eats his food in under 30 seconds so I bought one of these and it works!! Its entertaining too, for all involved! I saw them in Petsmart as well.

Great suggestion Elizabeth! We use the Brake-Fast Bowl for our Wyatt Ray and it really helps him slow down too. I think he thinks it's fun to eat that way!
