Novak is 3 days post op and he has loose skin between his penis and his limb and I think seroma is getting in that part, but doesn't seem big, but I really don't know when I need to drain it, if I have to, etc... Gravity plays a part of course, but he's always laying down except for potty break. The incision look good and no liquid is leaking. There a lot of redness and brusing, but looking at all the photos on this site, I think its ok. Any though? Tomorrow, will maybe bring him to my vet to make sure its ok. How seroma does feel at touch?

His incision and bruising look great. seroma doesn't look bad either. You can try a very gentle massage around the area to help absorb the fluid. Max had seroma too but his leaked out so it never built up like Novaks. If nothing else take him in tomorrow just to ease your mind and make sure all is ok. Sometimes it's worth it just for mommy piece of mind. If I remember seroma is quite soft to the touch.

Pofi was in the hospital nearly 48 hours post amp for various reasons and he had a drain in until just minutes before they gave him to me to bring home. I think that really mediated the amount/size of seroma . I'm with Jerry on this - bring him in just for peace of mind and possibly to drain and relieve some pressure.
It doesn't look like "real trouble" to me (as Linda said), but you both might feel more comfortable to have some of the pressure relieved.
So glad you are past the op and he is home and doing well.

On October 27, 2016, nearly 6 months after amputation, and 18 months since his cancer likely started, we lost Pofi to a recurrence of Soft Tissue Sarcoma in his spine quite suddenly. His canine sister also succumbed to cancer on March 1, 2019 - we lavished her with our love in the interim, but life was never quite the same without her only real canine friend. Cliff kitty had to leave us, too, suddenly, in August 2019. Lucia kitty grieved all these losses, but helped us welcome two new Lurchers into our home and our lives, Shae and Barley.

Hi! So went to the vet this morning and great new, everything is fine Its just swelling(edema), the vet pressed on it and it did something really weird and funny and I felt chills....yuk... she explained to me that, that was swelling and not really fluid or not a lot if they was, so she recommanded to massage him 2-3 times a day and then apply ice pack and do a little pressure on it on his back so the gravity could help. She doesnt want to poke in that, she said that she will just damage the tissue and maybe cause an infection. Theres not a pocket a fluid she can drain, so just more swelling that anything else! YAY so happy, so relieve. She said that the incision looked great and everything was perfect!
Hi!!! Glad Novak is doing pretty well. I posted that I thought Ruby had triplet Amp Sibs, I knew that Milo was one and could not remember Novak's name. So now I do. Ruby-Novak-Milo all had their surgery the same day. We are pretty sleep deprived over here as Ruby is having some troubles at night with what we think is Phantom Pain . It's so hard to see our babies in pain. My daughter and I are taking turns so it makes it easier and this is my VACATION (oh yay me right??) LOL so we are trying to have some fun binge watching etc. I do worry about Ruby and Kacy when I have to go home in 2 weeks but hopefully by then Ruby will be a different dog.
Anyway take care and keep us posted on Novak's recovery!!!

You are a good mom and grand mom to Kacy and Ruby, they are lucky to have you. Im sure in 2 weeks, a lot will have change. Each day is better than the pass one. Hope you will find a solution for Ruby's pain. Novak take tramadol, gabapentin, deramaxx and zeniquin(antibiotic) and he did begin that "diet" one month before amputation(tramadol, gaba and deramaxx), I had to cut on the deramaxx cause I needed to give him cortisone for his hot spot that came just 2 weeks before the surgery.
wow, what 2 days can do! Novak love being on his back(his favorite position) to receive my massage and cold compress. The swelling and redness are so much better!

YAAAAAAAAAY FOR NOVAK!!! The Mighty Novak is rockin his recovery! So glad eeverything is working out for this very special boy.
It's so uplifting to them return to doing normal things like being in their backs...things that we never take for granted ever again...little things are now SPECTACULAR THINGS! 🙂 🙂
