I'm currently sat in the vets waiting room waiting for the results of Storms second set of x-Ray's. Fingers crossed that there is either no change or, better still, an improvement. All other obs were good so that's a plus.
If all is well he will have another course of doxorubicin, if not then we will maybe look at metronomics .
We're "with" you!!!
As always, the important thing is Storm is feeling fine!!!
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Not good news, the chemo has not stopped the mets from growing. Thy are still small and not affecting his quality of life but it's not worth continuing with it seeing as it is having zero effect. Looking at metronomics but really it's a case of letting him enjoy life day by day and be dog.
You've got it right...enjoying life day by day! That's what Storm's been doing all along and no xray has changed any of that for Storm!!
Speaking for myself, their was a sense of...hmmm....peace, or a "freeing"...knowing Happy Hannah wouldn't have to go through anymore poking or prodding or numerous vet visits. I jad done everything I could with the "normal" chemo route. She was feeling good and enjoying life. We were going to make every moment count without vet trips!! We BOTH lived in the moment and had a spectacular fun time!!
Does that mean I gave up? Heck no! I still did supplements, holistic things, etc. I did do metronomics for a very, short time but she developed urinary issues.. Many here have gone that route, including Jerry, and felt positive about it.
I tell ya', the spoiling, the "spoiling gone wild", was so much fun! And yeah, I gave her JUNK food too!! Everyday was a "fill Happy Hannah's bucket list" day!
Remember, NOTHING has changed in Storms's world and he does not jave a timeframe stamped on his butt! Never did! Doesn't now!
Storm has alot of living to do and he has to "train" Molly! He's not gping anywhere anytime soon!
Looking forward to seeing lots more pictures of everybody, but especially sweet Storm!
Now go give that boy a scoop of ice cream and watch him wag in glee!
@ove!
Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!

Not the news you wanted of course, but if Storm is feeling good, enjoying his life, getting (and giving) lots of love then that is all that matters. Enjoy each day---it won't come again and if you waste it worry about tomorrow, it will be gone before you know it.
Denise.
Active 10+ Pyr mix suddenly came up lame with ACL tear in left rear leg. Scheduled for a TPLO but final pre-op x-rays indicated a small suspicious area, possibly OSA, which could have caused the ACL tear. Surgeon opened the knee for TPLO but found soft bone. Biopsy came back positive for OSA. Became a Tripawd 9/18/14. Carbo6 with Cerenia and Fluids. Pain free and living in the moment. Crossed the Bridge on 7/12/15 after probable spread of cancer to her cervical spine. A whole lifetime of memories squeezed into 10 months. Here's her story: Eloise
Completely agree with you Chellie. It should always be about quality not quantity of life. We're at that point with Max. If and when he develops more cancer we will do whatever we need to do to keep him comfortable as long as he has quality of life. No more poking and prodding and all the hated vet trips for him. Like Sally said once you've made that decision it is oddly freeing. Now you can really focus on spoiling that beautiful Storm. Our pups are here and happy today and today is what matters.
Hugs,
Linda & Max
