Rough skin patch on "good" side?

So Mika, for obvious reasons, now prefers to lay on her "good" side and it's causing a rough patch to develop on her side about 3" in diameter.  The skin is very dry and a bit raised there and her hair is starting to come off.   The vet said (in a phone consult, so nice since it saved us time and the cost of bringing her in for an appointment), she's probably developing a callus since she's always lying in the same place and probably distributing her weight differently.

Has anyone else had the same thing happen to their pup?

Seriously, Mika, don't you get enough attention as a tripawd that you don't need to also start looking like a mange-y stray!

...a mangy stray!  That's too funny!

Trouble has developed a dry, cracked nose.  I've been using glycerine on it, seems to be the only thing that has made much difference.  It's still not well, but it feels better to touch.  You might give it a try.

Hmmm...it seems to be a different problem then what others pups have experienced on thier elbows.  The sore/dry area is on her side, along her ribcage.  We are going to "borrow" some A&D from her toddler twins sisters and see if that helps with the dryness.  Now I just need to find her a stylin' outfit to cover up the ointment, otherwise it'll be a bit messy, me thinks!  I think she needs a tubetop.  LOL

Actually, her camel holloween costume would work well but who's ever heard of a two-humped, three-legged camel-dog?!

Thanks!

Mari

A tube-topped, two-humped, three legged camel-dog....OMD I have got to see that!

Sounds like she's got some bony ribs perhaps? Maybe she needs more meat on her bones?

I'll have to post a pic of her camel costume.  My sister, who does props and crafts for the opera, made it for her years ago.  She spent waaay more time on that than anything she's ever done for her human neices.  LOL

Mika's got a bit of chub of her and somewhat of a poochy tummy to boot, just like her mom.  *I* carried twins (aka "twin skin") for 38 weeks and was 55" around (and I'm 57" tall), but I don't know what *her* excuse is...   laughing
