Hi everyone---
I'm sad to say we just got the news that Rocket has mets---amputation was 9 months ago yesterday. I am so bummed. We are going to start Palladia tomorrow---2 pills every other day. I was searching the boards to see how others fared with Palladia---and just decided I wanted to at least share with people who understand how I'm feeling. I really believed we were over the hump and on the way to being the positive side of the percentages...and I know each one of us believes that about our tri-pawd..we have to. It hits hard when the news comes--even though its not much of a surprise.
Anyway, thanks for listening---we will start Palladia tomorrow and continue our journey---and make sure to get more and more frisbee time in--because Rocket says that life is about frisbee--nothing else. : )
I'll keep everyone posted as we go along.
All our best,
Rocket and Lynda
p.s. Rocket is April Calendar Boy---Calendar #4--check him out!
Sorry to read that Rocket as mets. That's a real bummer. I hope Palladia can help him. Our thoughts are with you.

Lynda, I know this news is so heartbreaking, it feels like you're starting all over again. We totally get it, and I'm very, very sorry. But remember, Rocket has the right idea.
He doesn't know or care what those x-rays said, he only know that today is happening, and he wants to make the most of it while he feels good. Follow his lead, and remember that mets don't come with a time stamp. Many dogs can go on for a long time with them. We even know of one who lasted five years! Sure that's rare, but it happened, and you just never know.
In the meantime, Samdog just shared this in his blog today, I hope it helps you cope with this news:
What Cancer Cannot Do.
Cancer is so limited
It cannot cripple love
It cannot shatter hope
It cannot corrode faith
It cannot destroy peace
It cannot kill friendship
It cannot suppress memories
It cannot silence courage
It cannot invade the soul
It cannot steal eternal life
It cannot conquer the spirit.

Ihope the palladia helps. We tried it but had to stop due to GI issues. Still though, our girl had mets for over a year. There was a pup here on the forums who's mets went away after taking Palladia. They did eventually come back, but at least they got a lot of extra time with their pup.
Hang in there and keep hope alive!

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Lynda, so sorry to hear about Rocket. There are so many ups and downs when it comes to cancer. Rocket has already made it through the amputation with flying colors. I'm sure he is going to give it the same fight when it comes to the mets. Let us know how he does on the Palladia. Both of you will be in my thoughts.
