Ranger had a CBC this morning, and everything is normal. We are good to go for round 3 of chemo next week.
His eating is on and off, but his weight is being maintained so I will let him continue to guide me as to what/when he eats.
Also, he has finally figured out how to get up when he lays on his amputated side. Yay Ranger!!
Merry Christmas to everyone, and I hope Santa Paws brings us all good luck in 2020!
YAAAAAAY RANGER!!! Great way to go into the New Year! -We love good news around !!

So update on round 3 of chemo. It didn't happen. Ranger's blood work showed that his neutrophil count was below normal. This is NEU on a blood work test, and basically measures immunity. Since it was below normal, the vet and I discussed and agreed to push treatment back a week.
NEU on 12/2 was 3.35, and on 12/31 was 2.27. Normal range is 2.95 - 11.64. We try again on 1/7/2020.
Also want to mention that a set of x-rays were taken and are being read by the radiologist. A preliminary scan shows no areas of concern, let's keep our paws crossed that the radiologist agrees.
Will update later this week. Happy New Year everyone!
Hey Hoppy New Year to you!
Sorry the chemo didn't happen, but that's not an unusual situation at all. Better to be safe. We'll keep our paws crossed that it happens on the 7th, and for confirmed clean x-rays. Keep us posted.

Ranger's NEU on 12/7 was up to 4.46, so chemo was a go. As expected, it hit him a little harder this time, and we had a rough week coaxing him to eat and, well, just get up. But, this week he his much better.
We're still waiting on final results from the x-rays (radiologist backed up due to the holidays), and the oncologist has recommended we wait 4 weeks instead of 3 for the next round of chemo.
Sorry the chemo hit him hard, but like the idea of stretching it out to four weeks. That should help lessen the side effects.
Keep on keeping on Ranger 🤗

Sorry to hear about the hard treatment, Eva's third was hard on her more than the first two as well and was four weeks apart. She had a so tired and had more tummy troubles than before. Guess it is the build up of meds. which I guess is a way to know that they are doing something. Eva said to tell Ranger to keep a paw up. Paws crossed for clean Rads.
