Apparently the Pred and Epogen kicked in, all the warm thoughts from our Tripawd friends reached our home or maybe, just maybe, Zeus decided once again to remind us that nothing can be predicted.  He seems to like not following the rules when it comes to the cancer outline.

Today is a good day.  His breathing is better (especially when he is at rest) and he's made it out several times this morning without looking like he's going to collapse before he makes it back in.  I've noticed he is dreaming again and twitching as he chases whatever wonderful creature it is that makes him so happy in his sleep.  I've even heard several 'happy-baby-sighs' this morning.

I've wondered if maybe he was sore from the physical exam and ultrasound on Wednesday because as of earlier this week he would still stretch and even roll over for tummy rubs but that stopped on Wednesday.  Today I have noticed several big stretches.

Anyway, I am happy for a good day.  I am so glad that I took off and we are just at home together being happy.  I am appreciative of all of your support and comments, especially the ones with kind words about my baby.  I could go the rest of my life without someone complimenting me, but when it comes to my boy - well, those make me smile and I could listen to those forever.

Zeus was a Husky mix diagnosed with Osteosarcoma at age 11.  A visible lung met and suspicious spot on his liver meant a poor prognosis-six weeks was our vet's best guess. We decided to fight for our boy and his right front leg was amputated on 12/1/11. We did six rounds of chemo, changed his diet and spoiled him completely rotten. We were blessed with 10 great months after diagnosis. Against the odds, the lung met remained a single met and grew very little over those months. A wonderful furbaby with the most gentle spirit, he fought with a strength that we never imagined he possessed. We have no regrets...

Love those "happy baby sighs"big-grin Zeus is such a brave warrior--keep chasing those creatures, Zeus, and continue to throw those rules out the window!!

Love and Hugs to you and precious Zeus,

Joan and Lily

Our beautiful Lily was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her front leg on 12/14/11 at age 8 and had amp on 12/16/11. She completed 5 rounds of carbo. She was so brave and kicked cancer's butt daily! She lived life fully for 4 years, 3 months, and 15 days after her amp. My angel is a warrior princess. I miss her so much.

Zeus defies the odds! This is great news, I'm so hoppy to hear you're having a good day. I think a vet visit can wear anypawdy out, I'm sure that's what was going on earlier.

Three paws up for many, many more hoppy days ahead. We are thinking of you and the pack. clap

Oh Zeus, this is wonderful news!!! Keep doing those 'baby sighs' for your mom, that way she can sigh in relief too. We hope you have a great weekend full of perfect days!!!

Chloe became a rear amp tripawd on 7-29-10. Another tumor was removed on front leg 2-20-14. Found 3rd tumor on neck 2-2015, but she's still kicking cancer's butt at age 14. Chloe's blog

Hooray for happy-baby sighs and big stretches and days off and most of all for Good Days! May there be many, many, many more!

Please give Zeus an extra tummy rub from me!!

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!

Lisa, This upbeat update absolutely makes my day! I don't think that an hour has gone by today that I haven't thought of Zeus and you.

Here's to a good weekend filled with treats and cuddling. We decided to extend Zeus's 8 month anniversary party to an all weekender here at the farm.  WooHoo Zeus!!

Please give your boy a gentle hug from us and whisper in his ear that he is such an inspawration to so many!

It is so funny that you say that, because that is exactly what we have done!  He felt so bad on 8/1 that we really couldn't do much to celebrate.  It seemed that even petting him below the neck made him uncomfortable.  So today we decided that Froot Loops and a can of icing (yep, mom's not a baker so Zeus gets to skip the cake part and just eat the icing right off the spoon aw-shucks) were in order to celebrate.

Shortly after my post earlier he rolled over on his back, legs everwhere and let me rub the belly.  I almost came out of my skin when he rolled over!  I was giggling like a two year old and Zeus was looking at me like I lost my mind.

I am certainly realistic - I know this is all fleeting, but I am thankful for the even smallest glimpses of happiness.  Greg just could not get out of work today, so I am hoping for tomorrow to be this good so that he can experience it, too.

I say this with all seriousness:  Treats for EVERYONE!!!  I really do love you guys!!

I would eat some canned icing right off the spoon... I mean, to celebrate Zeus and all....

Hope you have a wonderful weekend with him!

Hot fudge sundae downed tonight in Zeus' honor!!  The pugs got canned food snack instead of the dry stuff.

This is truly when when we learn to Be More Dog - we treasure every moment.

I hope the moments keep piling up.
