I want to thank everyone for all the kind words and support we received these last few days. Sadly, Moby lost his battle today. We are not sure what happened, but he went into cardiac arrest last night. They got him back, but as of this morning he still wasn't breathing on his own. I called my husband, but before he made it home they called and told me his heart had stopped again. They were doing chest compressions, they were getting no response and thought his brain had been to long without oxygen. I told them to let him go.
We were able to go there and see him and say our goodbyes. Very difficult. They think maybe a blood clot broke loose and went to his lungs. We take comfort in knowing that every decision we made, was made by thinking of what would be best for him. My poor other dog Maverick doesn't understand what is going on, but has been trying hard to comfort me.
Thank you all once again!
I'm so sorry. I wish there were magic words to make it hurt less but there aren't any. I'm sure Moby knew he was loved and cherished and that you were doing what was best for him.

Active 10+ Pyr mix suddenly came up lame with ACL tear in left rear leg. Scheduled for a TPLO but final pre-op x-rays indicated a small suspicious area, possibly OSA, which could have caused the ACL tear. Surgeon opened the knee for TPLO but found soft bone. Biopsy came back positive for OSA. Became a Tripawd 9/18/14. Carbo6 with Cerenia and Fluids. Pain free and living in the moment. Crossed the Bridge on 7/12/15 after probable spread of cancer to her cervical spine. A whole lifetime of memories squeezed into 10 months. Here's her story: Eloise
Can't even speak right nkw. EVERY SINGLE THING YOU DID WAS WITH LOVE FOR MOBY...even letting him transition.
The entire community cries with you today.

My heart aches for your pack, I can't find the right words to say except I am so very, very sorry.
This kind of loss is unimaginable and huge, there is no way to prepare for it. This is so rare and when it happens it hits this community hard. We all grieve with you, and if there is anything at all we can do to help, please let us know OK? Consider sharing his story in Coping with Loss, we would love to celebrate his life with you.
With all our love and condolences, we are so sorry for your loss.

We have a helpline...1 844 TRIPAWDS.......this is one of the hardest things in the world to deal with...we we're here for you. It's ade up of members who've experienced this journey a d who've experienced loss.
This is so unexpected and such a shock. Human surgery, animal surgery, all jave these u forseen risks, but we all take them because we all want to give a chance at recovery. To not try would be too big of a burden to carry. To try out of love is the best we can do.
With love,
Sally and My Eternal Light Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle

So sorry for the loss of your dear Moby. It is hard to cope with this unexpected loss. I can also understand that your other dog doesn't grasp what has happened. It will be hard on him/her also.
hugs from Brazil.

Ongoing treatment: acupuncture + K-9 Immunity Plus ( 3chews) and home-cooked no-grain diet. Stopped Apocaps because of liver issues. Liver issues: controlling altered enzymes with SAM-e and Milk Thistle. October 17: started having seizures. Taking fenobarbital for seizures. April 18: started prednisone.

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
I am so deeply sorry for your loss of your precious Moby.... My heart aches for the grief you and your pack are experiencing. Take some comfort in knowing that Moby was greeted by all his Tripawd brothers and sisters who have gone before him. He is now happy and healthy and playing with the other dogs and kitties up there at the Bridge. And he will be there to greet you with slobbery kisses and a wiggling butt when it's your time to leave this earth.
Sending you a BIG hug.
