Geez Charlie, now you're adding pootie toots to your list of "issues"! You are certainly having a ...er..."unique" recovery! Now it's time to be a little less unique, okay??
I don't have any real insight to help on this. Of course, diet comes to mind first. Crazy question which probably won't make any sense. Is it more "air" as oppsed to a stinky food related poot? Airr could be more relatated to the strong spasms involving his tummy muscles too.
Maybe others can help. I don't think it's anything at all to be concerned about
Lots of hugs

PS...Hopefully you'll get some feedback pretty soon under the Ask the Vet thread on he spasm "issue".
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Yes, I know, just one more thing. Actually I don't even know if it is causing him distress, I just thought since he often has it after these episodes it would help. Started off as more of an "air" but now definitely have a strong stench. After he has the gas he often relaxes and the spasms stop.
He isn't any better, I have called the general surgeon's office, and am contemplating calling his regular vet for a referral to a specialist for a 2nd opinion. I'm just overwhelmed but the whole thing and wish his general surgeon would look into this further.
Hmm. If your gut instinct is telling you to get another opinion, do it.
As for the gas. My first thought is: is he on any kind of probiotic? Maybe something like this can help. The post is about diarrhea but the company makes awsesome GI remedies:

Because I saw rhis on a other of Charlie's lost, thought I'd add it here. He's only pooped once in twelve days since surgery. Just another possible clue to the puzzle.
