I got a phone call this morning from one of Dakota's team (he has a team because he is rock star ) and the path report is in. Grade 2 soft tissue sarcoma, as expected, with clear lymph nodes. So no chemo, no nothing except advised chest films quarterly for the first year, just to be safe. I expected to hear all of this, but I didn't realize how relieved I would be to hear what I already figured I'd hear. Dakota doesn't know it, but he is also relieved.

Thanks, everyone! It does feel better knowing the pathology results. Jerry, I have no ice cream but I have vanilla wafers. I will think of you while shoveling them into my mouth.
Miss Riley, Dakota is doing much, much better. He is happier and just seems more comfortable with either life or his situation. He is not looking around wild-eyed anymore. And this morning when I played with his bulldog baby, he tried to interfere and get me to stop--which is his typical behavior. You see, no one can start the fun except Dakota. If we start playing without his permission, he tries to shut it down. So as annoying as that is, it is his normal. And normal is good!

(P.S. to Monkeybutt--Is there ever a time when you are not happy?)

Wonderful news! Chicken strips sound good to me. Trouble had makrel with her dinner.

Isn't it great those big sighs of relief, but here goes the waist line again, since I'm currently without a buddy, I do the celebrating for him, kills my waist, but for a good reason, Big Paws up to a great report, Spirit Gus and Dan
My buddy Gus had a left front amputation on April 7, 2010 and lived a great life until July 26,2010
Wow, I'm getting the idea that this gang celebrates frequently and heartily! Should I stock up on ice cream, chicken chew strips, and Pepperidge Farms cookies? I do have a treadmill in my house so maybe I'll need to use it more, with all the pawties you guys have!
Dan, I appreciate what you're saying. There are many parts of our bodies that go to hell when we don't have a buddy to walk with or go to Home Depot with. I think the waistline is one area, but the heart is certainly another. Are you considering another companion?

Well, first of all, if you hang around here very long you better stock up on treats, it doesn't take much of a reason to celebrate around here, in fact, I think we've even had treats for a first poop after surgery. As far as getting another buddy, not sure. I am really starting to miss having one, this is the longest I have ever been without one, but I have to admit at least through the winter it is nice not having to get up in the middle of the night to let one out, I just have to break the habit Gus forced me to start. He wanted out every night around 12:30-1:00, I think he wanted to make sure he wasn't missing something, so I'd just fall asleep on the couch then one he made his rounds it was safe to go to bed, but now I still fal asleep then wake up who knows when, oh well, it was worth it. So to answer your question, there are times I want to get another one, but then another thing is I just don't know if I want to go through losing another one, regardless of the reason. I guess time will tell me what to do, but for now my wife seems to take pride in that job!!!!! Paws up

Yay Dakota!!! I remember the wait to find out the pathology results... In Chloe's case it was for her lymphnodes to determine whether it had invaded the lymph system. Such a relief to find out results are negative, so definetly a time to celebrate!!!
And yes we do have lots of pawties here. I like to group Chloe's as much as possible such as Monday: Valentine's Day, Her birthday and early 7 month ampuversary (February doesn't have a 29th!). We like to spoil our pups around here, something you probably already noticed...
Yay for good results, hope Dakota continues to do well!!!

Chloe became a rear amp tripawd on 7-29-10. Another tumor was removed on front leg 2-20-14. Found 3rd tumor on neck 2-2015, but she's still kicking cancer's butt at age 14. Chloe's blog
