Otis started the day with pulling so hard on the leash that he was standing on his hind legs, barking at the roofer guy and pulling my shoulder darn near out of its socket. Â His bad attitude with people is back. I however refuse to muzzle him anymore. Â If I hand the leash to someone else he is fine with them. If I hold the leash and he is in front of me he barks and tries to scare them. Â He's a big chicken that thinks mamma is going to save him lol
He then begged for table scraps and even did tricks. Â He followed verbal directions to go to the kitchen for bedtime snack and then waited at the bedroom door for me. Â This is so routine and has been missing for a month now. Otis even tried to give us the paw he no longer has!! Â Kinda weird, kinda sad, yet kind of funny he still thinks he can do it.
it was like someone flipped a switch and boom Heeeerrrrrrees Otis!

OTTTTTTTIISSSSSSSS!!! You are a SUPER STAR!!! Ask for the entire buffett instead of a scrap or two! Keep the roofers on the roof! Pretend to be nice to THOSE OTHER PEOPLE WHO HOLD THE LEASH!!! And WOOF WOOOOOOF when those pesky strangers attempt to approach: I mean, not everyone qualifies to have OTIS TIME! So happy you are ruling your universe again!!!
Hugs and PyrPaws from DaBears!!!
Thanks for the GREAT update! 🙂 Keep up the good work Otis.

Yay Otis! You go with your bad self! Shhhh, don't tell your mom, but Tripawds get away with MURDER! I think it's because we're so happy to see them get back to their old selves, we let them do whatever they want - even when they're being naughty, we're happy to see it! Keep up the good work, we love to hear these stories.

Nitro 11 1/2 Â yr old Doberman; right front amp June 2014. Had 6 doses carboplatin, followed by metronomic therapy. Rocked it on 3 legs for over 3 years! My Warrior beat cancer, but couldn't beat old age. He crossed the Bridge peacefully on July 25, 2017, with dignity and on his terms. Â Follow his blog entitled "Doberman's journey"

We are sitting at TUFTS, waiting for Otis to get his 2nd round of Chemo. Â Hoping all goes as well as last time.
Otis is fully back to his old self. Â I know we made the right decision and if I had not found all you wonderful people, I may have made a bad decision for Otis. Â He has so much life left in him and he's so happy!
Thanks to everyone here for showing me that amputation IS a choice for Giant Breed dogs and all your support.

So far Otis is doing great after his second chemo. Â Otis also went for his PT evaluation today and did the underwater treadmill! Â
He seems so much more content and happy tonight. Â I think he really needed to get out and get some excercise and some mental stimulation. Â
He did not wear a muzzle! Â He was a brat so I left the room and all the sudden he was a big mush with the ladies there. Â Of course later he barked at the same people and they just told him to stop.
I learned so much from the evaluation. Â I'll be typing up all the info and have a few photos.
I would have never even thought to do PT if I didn't see the Maggie Moo information.  I'm so glad I did because I was taught so much!  I'll be taking him swimming/hydrotherapy  3x/week now.
