Oh my gosh Hazel! You're a rock star. Take it easy though, you need to rest up so you can get strong.
Thanks for sharing the video!

Yeah, not too unusual for dogs to come home, zip around and then crash and sleep for a few days. They think they're so invincible until their bodies catch up with their brain. I know, you were probably standing there with your jaw hanging open watching here! We sure were when Jerry came home. Still, try your best to keep her activity to a minimum right now so she can heal. I know that's hard with a springy JRT like her!

Hazel, you are ADORABLE!! CLearly you have mastered the art of be-bopping around on three legs! This is such aa great video to show how well some tripawds can do right after surgery. Good job!
HOWEVER, as Jerry said though, sloooow and easy for the next two weeks. The incision site is still fragile and muscles and joints are still adapting to the additional strain of missing a leg.
Thanks for sharing this great video! We are all beaming! 🙂
Hugs!

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Oh my gosh look at her go! Wow Hazel! But, like everyone has said, don't be surprised if she crashes. A lot of times on about the 3rd day the medications from surgery seem to wear off and they sort of crash.

I am completely shocked at her how she's moving around even as we are trying to keep her down and calm. Tonight we did have a little mishap where she was naughty while kenneled with her e-collar on and got around the collar and licked her incision pretty good. Called the vet and they advised triple antibotic ointment on it now. But..... To end the night even more stronger... SHE POOPED for the first time since loosing her leg. I was literally cheering in the backyard for her and I'm sure the neighbors were so thrilled hearing this excited momma. Thank you all for the kind words.
We LOVE to celebrate the first poop around here!! So here we go...YAAAAAAAAAY FOR POOP!!
Good job Hazel!!
Nkw you leave those stitches alone, okay? You clearly are a JRT...fiesty, spunky, strong willed, funny, determined...And cute as a button!
Hugs!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
Hazel says, "whoo hoo, I feel so good!" Looking great Hazel!
