The mutation is common in Scottish deerhounds, greyhounds, and Irish wolfhounds; and has been discovered in other sighthound dog breeds like basenjis, Italian greyhounds, whippets, salukis, and Borzois. The mutation has also been found in other popular breeds, such as golden retrievers, border collies, English bulldogs and Shetland sheepdogs.

We almost lost Allen to this after his amputation.  He both started bleeding out from the incision as well as bruising over 75% of his body.

Ingrid! Thank you for sharing your sighthound expertise, and Allen's story too. Yep, that was a super scary situation! I'm so glad with that test available there will be less people and sighthound dogs going through something like that.

Lotsa love headed your way!
