Please keep a good thought for Abby's oncologist follow up appointment today. Was just supposed to be a regular ol' appointment today to check blood and whatnot, but now I am going to try to get us in to the office earlier if possible. She hurt her good remaining front leg last night while playing and is limping today - not easy with only one... Really really really hoping it is just a little sprain. I'm sure you remember we had an issue with her good leg a month or so ago when she hurt her toenail, but this seems worse. She can still get herself around, although quite slowly. I have been trying to carry her around - just barely doable. She is "only" 45 lbs, but rather unwieldy.
I am worried that the cancer has spread to her other leg. Hopefully that is NOT the case. Her leg is not swollen, so hoping that is a good sign.
Say a little prayer, poke a cancer-voodoo doll, cross fingers/paws, send pawsitive energy -- whatever you are into we will accept!
thanks; will let you know what Dr. V. says.
Jackie, Abby's worried mom
Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. charon & gayle
Life is good, so very, very good!!! Gayle enjoyed each and every moment of each and every wonderful day (naps included). She left this world December 12, 2011 – off on a new adventure.
Love Never Ends
Sending you good vibes and said a prayer for you two!
We had a similar situation where Bud stretched the knee a bit and there was some swelling. He had to be confined and take pain meds but he healed and regained the strength in mobility he had lost!
I hope Abby recover soon and you are given great news today!
Dear Abby & Jackie
We are with you!! Sending tons of pawsitive thoughts, good energy and extra sparkles from Lylee's pink cape.
Hopefully just a sprain! And everything checks out brilliantly!
Wags and kisses

Oh Jackie.
We'll not only be sending you all the pawsitive thoughts we have but we'll be holding our breath until we hear the good news the vet is going to give you!!!!!!!!!!!!! He is! I know he is going to give you good news. I just know! I feel good news coming. She is a Tripawd Warrior Princess after all!
But just know that we are here for you and will do whatever we can.
P.S. Monkeybutt bunny says..."ScAbby is a tough vixen! Those cancer cells haven't got a chance!".
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Abby,
Rio is sending you so much good energy, that she had to take a nap. I'm sure the vet will tell you that you just played to hard. But we will be holding our collective breaths here until we find out for sure.
Too bad you didn't have a pink cape to wear to your appointment. I'm sure that would have given you TGP super powers to fight off any bad cancer cells.

I'll be thinking of you and hoping that Abby's just being a lazy bum and likes you carrying her!
Please do update after the appt. Please.

It worked!!! All those good thoughts did the trick - just a sprained toe! He messed with her shoulder, ankle, wrist and toe and the only time she fussed was with the toe. He said it doesn't seem swollen at all so is probably just a mild sprain. He said it is very very rare for OSA to spread to a toe, so not to worry.
The other good news was that he listened to her lungs for a good long time and said they sounded great. He said if we didn't know the mets were in there (damn Boris & Natasha!) he wouldn't be able to tell there was anything wrong with her.
He did still manage to make me cry a little though... Saying what a great life she has and how we have done so well with her. He mentioned how hard it is to deal with OSA. Frick. It is hard. But, she does have a great life and she doesn't know she is sick and she is doing really great. Next appointment will be for xrays to check on Boris & Natasha on Oct 28 - just one day shy of her one year ampuversary!!
Thanks again everybody! Oh, and we didn't hve a cape to wear, but she wore her Tripawds bandana and it obviously brought good luck!

Oh yeah... to celebrate we went to Arbys and got a roast beef sandwich and shared it in the park. 🙂
Also meant to say, he said to give her tramadol for the pain and only do short leash walks in the neighborhood for a few days. No beach. But that is good timing as Fiesta Island is closed for 3 days because of some big boat race thingy, so we couldn't go there anyway. If all goes well she can go back to the beach next week. 🙂
