I'm getting ready to foster a 3 1/2 month old puppy that just had it's front let amputated. I'm scared as heck. Been reading everything I can. I have been fostering puppies all summer but never one recovering from surgery. Tell me what to read or any advice you can give. I will take it all. I do have 2 other dogs both male and fixed. No children to worry about. Thanks

Kudos to you for fostering this pup! Why did he lose his leg?
The biggest challenge you'll likely face is keeping him calm enough to have a good recovery. It's not impossible and others with multiple dogs in a household can give you better advice than I but overall, I'll bet he will bounce back pretty quick!
Have you seen Jerry's Required Reading List ? It can answer a lot of your questions too but I know others will chime in in just a bit so hang tight.

You are brave for fostering puppies! I think after some initial healing you won't find a tripawd puppy much different. We have often seen here that the youngsters do really well with recovery, the biggest problem becomes trying to keep them calm and not let them rough house until the sutures come out.
Traction is a big deal for tripawds, especially new tripawds who are trying to learn new balance. Throw rugs or yoga mats on any slippery floor surfaces work well.
What kind of puppy? How big is he?

Yes, can't wait to hear more avout your pupy! How wo derful that you are caring for him duri g this important ti e. Being a puppy and recoveri g from surgery......he is very fortu ate to have you in his life!
Keeping him calm and ot jumping or foing upstairs, all that needs to be monitored for the first couple of weeks! While he's still recovering and maybe feeling the pain of major surgery, that may ot be a problem. But once he starts feeling better, watch out world! Alost all dogs tolerate puppies very well...even though they may feel a little annoyed by him at first! Just keep YOUR energy strong and calm and let them know you have everything under control and they need not be stressed out about anything, okay?

Keep him calm! Don't let him hurt his remaining front leg with puppy energy.
Other than that sit back and enjoy the fun that only a puppy can bring.
