We went to visit Sparky this evening. We expected to see a sad, sick dog lying in a cage. What we got was a happy, hoppy, waggy tail pup who trotted down the hall and came to see us. He doesn't seem to know that he has now officially joined the Tripawd Gang. But more importantly, if he does know, he doesn't care. That bad old sore leg is gone and Mommy bought chicken, so everything is good. He will stay there another night or two while they ramp down the pain meds and keep an eye on the healing.
We have no regrets.
Now we are all going to sleep...
That's the spirit! Thanks for the great update.

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!
An awesome update. Trouble was the same way. She was apprehensive that we wouldn't accept her new appearance, but once I assured her all was well, neither of us ever looked back. We were just good to go. They are AMAZING!
Shanna & Spirit Trouble ~ Trouble gained her wings 3/16/2011, a 27 1/2 month cancer survivor, tail wagging. RIP sweetheart, you are my heart and soul. Run free at Rainbow Bridge.

Way to go Sparky!Â

Aren't you just amazed at how dogs don't feel sorry for themselves?!!!Â
..... Hurt leg gone. Let's start living!
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly  January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Hurrah for Sparky and big hugs for pawrents! Go have a frozen yogurt to celebrate!! Zippy sends her very three-legged best to Sparky and invites Sparky to join her in the water treadmill someday to laugh at all the clumsy 4-legged dogs! She means no harm since most of her buddies except for the cat have 4 legs but she likes to tease them a bit but they have been real good to her. Still step on her like she has all 4. We will keep all you in our thoughts through out the coming weeks. Let the questions fly! We are here for you and Sparky
