Our lovely Moby Dog is home She was asleep when we got to the vets and is still pretty much out of it. We were brave....thanks to the lovely people on here who prepared us well!
We've put her in a crate and she doesn't look she'll be trying to get out of it any time soon, but I'm sure she's glad to be home with her family. Thank you all so much for your support!
Awwwww. She's seeing those pesky pink elephants about now!
Get well soon Moby! We're glad you're home.

Our Super Dog Hunter crossed over the Rainbow Bridge on a beautiful summer day in July, just 3 days shy of his 10th Birthday. He gave us everything since he was 8 weeks old. Hunter was a 14 month warrior of OS. We LOVE and MISS him every day.
The first few nights can be very long. Try hard to get some sleep! When you get sleep deprived, it all starts to seem worse and that little monster, Regret, might start trying to poke his nose around. Tell him to get lost. Even if it's a tough few days, you'll get through it! Our Abby seemed SO depressed after and it just killed me, but not too much after that we were out taking our first hop around the neighborhood and it was awesome.
We're here if you need us!
Jackie, Angel Abby's mom
(She looks great, if a bit out of it...) 🙂
Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!
Yeah, Jackie is right. I think I was told to go grab a glass of wine (maybe a whole bottle ), get a movie, and get settled in. Might as well relax. Moby is going to crash anyways...looks like she might have already.
Glad the surgery went well.
Cadence's Mom
Cadence Faye: Born 10/30/04, stepped into our hearts 12/23/2004. Rear leg tumor found 7/24/11 by mom and dad, Xray on 7/25/11, Osteosarcoma suspected 7/26/11, amputation 7/29/11, Carboplatin started 8/23. Met free so far!
this is part of the process. i remember sitting up the first night gayle was home - all night...armand assante was in a double feature of the odessy (from the sixties??) and then, i sat up the next night too...she hated the cone... and having me by her, just touching seemed to be the only way to get her to rest. rest when she rests, if you can, and know you did the right thing.
charon & spirit gayle
oh, and the wine is also a nice addition!!
Life is good, so very, very good!!! Gayle enjoyed each and every moment of each and every wonderful day (naps included). She left this world December 12, 2011 – off on a new adventure.
Love Never Ends
Just made a post about my Maggie and I hope you can take the time to read about her journey. She had a a front right amputation on March 22nd. Curly, I'm not going to sugar coat what you are facing but I'll tell you it is worth every minute. Moby will make it... and be herself again. This site is awesome and very helpfull as you get throught the next days.
My wife and I were faced with doubt, emotions and hurt as Maggie healed. A couple thoughts for you. We stayed by Maggie's side for several nights and days. Gave her love and encouragement 24 hours a day. Never showed weakness, a tear or anything to make her feel bad. Always hugs, kisses and love. You must be strong and supportive for the next days.
If you will, try to pick up my original post and read through our post surgery days. I think it was titled "Maggies Amputation 3/22" I made several posts and had so much help from the folks on this site. I pray for Moby's comfort, healing and your strenght to be by her side now as she needs you more than ever.
Silver
Just echoing every one here and saying wine, rest and cuddles are key. The wine especially. Tango has never been much of a crier, so hearing him go at it for two nights was hard. But last night he slept like a baby. Well, a baby with a plastic cone over it's head.
Good luck to you and Moby!
It is hard to see them seeming so sad - but it really does pass. (If you are killing time hanging out with her, here's a post i wrote about Abby's aloof ways, post amp.)
The only thing we found that really cheered Abby up was to have people come visit her. She wouldn't even cheer up for us, which felt like she was mad at us for 'what we did' to her, but of course that was just us putting our guilt and worries about everything on her. She was back to her old self, following me everywhere and totally a love bug again in short order. Moby will be too. You can do it! The wine helps! So does a mindless movie!
Hang in there!

Thank you all so much for your support!
I will read Maggie's story and Abby's It is really helpful to read how other families have got on!
Moby had a rough night, as expected. She didn't move for hours and hours, just cried a lot.
She suddenly decided to get up at 5 am....she lost her balance a couple of times but worked out how to get herself up. She had a little walk, not been for a wee yet though.
She has drunk some water and ate a little food (spoon fed, only way to get her to have it).
Moby is having a little doze on her Daddy's lap at the moment, making some strange noises but she she seems relaxed and comfy.
