On this post , palladia was mentioned... When does a dog take palladia? Is it along with metronomics ? or one of the other?? anyone doing both together??
I believe Palladia is typically prescribed after lung mets are identified, but our oncologist talks about studies using it as a first line treatment, used in conjunction with (or in the studies, sometimes without) more typical chemo therapies like Carboplatin and Doxorubicin.
thanks for the reply on palladia. I know some here have mentioned their pet took palladia along with cyc.. metronomics … I see my onco vet on thurs for a treatment plan for metronomics .. Because Simon cant get the vaccine.. I want to be a little bit more aggressive.. My vet will consider this if I can offer reasons,, outcomes etc,.. anyone have any outcomes. thoughts on adding palladia to metronomics .. I want to hit hard but at the same time... prefer few side effects and a good life.. ie no side effects from the pallaida…?
When and how Palladia is used really depends on the cancer type and what stage of disease. Yes if you do a Forums search on Palladia you'll run into a lot of search results that explain how folks have used it in their dog's protocol. Sometimes it has been integrated into metronomic chemotherapy for osteosarcoma.
Some dogs handle Palladia nicely, others get bad GI upset. Side effects are a big crapshoot from what I can tell.
