Sunbathing is the best!  That's how I knew Otis was feeling better - when he hopped over to a patch of sun!

Otis - 106 pound lab/Dane mix, lost his right front leg to osteosarcoma on Febuary 9, 2016.  Four rounds of carboplatin completed in April, 2016.  Lung mets August 25, 2016.  Said goodbye too soon on September 4, 2016.   Lost his adopted sister, Tess, suddenly on October 9, 2016. likely due to hemangiosarcoma.

Glad Meg is eating a bit more and seems to have turned the corner. Some pups have ups and downs but I surely hope it's all smooth sailing from here!

Definitely keep in touch with your vet regarding Meg's pain. It can be tough to figure out the right combination of meds to keep it at bay. Keep the updates coming and blog posts, too!

Bit of a panic with Meg's incision site last night!

We were about to head around to a friend's place for the big football party when we noticed some blood on her blanket. First things first Katie hopped on to tripawds to look for advice but all seemed pretty okay. She'd been exerting herself a little bit more than normal yesterday so we figured it was that. Forced bed-rest for the rest of the evening and the incision had cleaned itself up and was looking fairly healthy again.

Just two days til the stitches are out! Can't believe how quickly the journey has gone with little Meggy Moo!

Stitches day today!

Meg's been right back to her sparkly usual self the last few days after our Sunday wound mild panic (see Katie's blog), even started running a little bit! (annoyingly that also means more fights with sister Dotti, grrr!)

Anyway, only a couple of hours til the stitches come out... wish us luck!big-grin

Stitches out and finally the vet visits are done for a while (except for the odd nail clipping!)

We celebrated by taking her to the park after they came out - she had a great time bopping around with her sister.

Next milestone? Time to give the stitch holes a few days to close over then BATH TIME on the weekend. (she stinks LOL poopicon_png)

Hooray!  So glad that she is doing well!  And I remember that urgent need for a bath too.  Just be glad she doesn't weigh 100 pounds like my Otis did.

Not sure if this is the best place to post updates anymore as our little Meg is well and truly recovered! We're now over 3 weeks post-amputation and Meggy moo is absolutely loving life. Apart from the inability to scratch her own ear (won't lie, the visual of her stump rotating in a phantom attempt makes me laugh a little!), she's back to her pre-amputation self.

She's back at the park daily, masters the ups and downs of stairs quicker than she did before (which is good given we live on a second-level apartment!), and today she even got in a round of soccer!

Two beautiful videos are now up on Katie's blog.

I already looked at your blog- Meg looks AWESOME!  So balanced and strong.

As far as updates- I started a thread in Shout Outs when I started Elly's blog.  Whenever I update her blog I add a post to let people know to go to the blog.  You could also have a topic going where you give updates in the forums.

The great thing is that she is definitely past the Treatment and Recovery stage!!!
