Such good advice from everyone...ditto....ditto.......
Lori gave some good tips are making some special moments with your son and Marshall.
When it's time, I would also talk about the Rainbow Bridge and what a beautiful place it is. Thst so many friends will be there to greet Marshall when he arrives. There will be a big welcome home party and Marshall will be eating cake and ice cream...all ne wants all day long! He will have his leg back if he wants it. Not every dog takes it back because they don't feel like they need it. There will be beautiful cool lakes for him to swim in if he wants and wo derful shade trees where he can chew on meaty bones all day long. Marshall will always be watching over him...and you...from the Bridge. He will always be his protector just as you have been his.
When Marshall decides to go to the Bridge it will be because he ks tired of tired body. He's not scared, he's relieved and excited. He wants to change it in for a healthy and fit body where he can run free and play fetch and roll in the grass. Where the Angels give him tummy rubs and butt scratches anytime he wants one.
Christine does a beautiful job of telling what a delightful place the Bridge is. I hope you check out some of her posts.
Holding you in our thoughts and sending you love and strength. We understand.

Ive been lpst in cyber land for several hours trying to get the above post to you. But this gave me a chance to see your latest update.
THE FACT THAT MARSHALL IS STILL HAVING QUALITY IS GOOD.....SO VERY GOOD!!
You'll lrobably have good and less good moments loke this. The playing and fun acrivity lrobavly make him really tired. But again, tired is not pain. The cool air probably feels good.
It'll be interesting to see what Dr. Loops jas up his sleeve. I bet he can offer some treatments, even if your "regular" vet didnt.
Keep on enjoying the happy moments! And if Marshall neds to rest a lot in between, that's okay!
Sending love always...

How long did Shelby have the eye thing?
I hesitate to answer this because I really think our stories are very different. Shelby's eyes looked bloodshot and red and a little drippy... we thought 'allergies'... but it was her cancer in her brain. Shelby had also lost all interest in life in general when we got to this stage and it sounds like Marshall has some sparkle still. Shelby also had seizures and it was really the beginning of our goodbye.
But I do not think we are dealing with same. I hope this helps and doesn't hurt in anyway. I know I didn't want to read anything but positive stuff but I had some truths when we went through this and in hindsight, it did help.
I am sooooo sorry you are going through this but I really feel hopeful that Marshall will turn the corner ... we'll see more sparkle and he'll see the spring. So much love your way!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
Marshall is not doing well at all. He is still eating and will still go out to play in snow with my son. He has a lot of fluid in his neck and his eyes and he had a seizure today. Thanks everyone for the good thoughts. We are spoiling him and letting him be Marshall for as long as he wants to.
Yes, " letting him be Marshall for as long as he can be".....well said. Continue to stay in the present with him.....you are doing everything exactly as Marshall would want. Your lpve for him...and his lpve for you, and his trust in you, will see you through each moment. It will.
Marshall sounds like he's still enjoying being Marshall, even if it means with some "adjustments".
Sending you love and cyber hugs...

Oh my gosh you guys I'm so sorry. I had so hoped things wouldn't progress so rapidly. My heart aches, I know this is a tough time. Did Dr. Loops ever get back to you?
Hugs, hugs and more hugs. I hope he gets a lot more snow time with you and your son. Give Marshall a big smooch from us, we are thinking of all of you.

This is the hardest part of the journey, let Marshall be your guide.
Sending strong, positive thoughts to your whole pack.

I don't know if it's progressing fast or we missed the signs although he has declined a lot this past week. He still seems like Marshall when he is outside and when he follows me to the kitchen to get treats. I want to give him lots of food but I don't want to trigger pancreatitis since he had that in November. I have heard from Dr Loops he wants me to call the office tomorrow to discuss some options.
Boy it sure sounds like this might be something that can be managed, he sounds so perky. Let us know what Dr. Loops says OK?

Thanks everyone!!!! We have been spoiling Marshall with even more love and treats. He continues to fight and be Marshall. He spends most of his day sleeping on the couch but he perks up whenever I go in the kitchen or eat something bc he knows he's getting food. He loves playing in the snow with my son. I'm happy that he is still having quality even though he isn't feeling well. Dr. Loops said that we are giving him everything we can but that nothing is going yo change the situation. We are trying not to be sad in front of him and are doing a good job at it. If I can figure out how to post some pictures I will but I'm doubtful I can figure it out

Thank you for updating us.... I've been thinking about you all weekend and checking the forums for an update. You are doing a great job and smiles and happy faces are what Marshall wants and needs! It's hard not to be sad (I sooooooo get that) but your strength IS shining through! It is great to hear that he perks up for treats and loves playing .... definitely quality in his mind and life!
Hugs and love!
