It's always good to hear when folks realize they absolutely made the right decision for their pup to go through with the amp. Thanks for the good update. Hope she continues to do well and you have lots of great times ahead with her.

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Glad to hear she is doing well!
Spirit Samson was Spirit Tripawd Daisys four legged "brother" and ruled as the self proclaimed head of the Monkeybutt Federations East Coast Division. Lady Chunky Monkey stayed from Oct 2011 and left for the bridge in Apr 2012. Miss Perdy is left and has some big pawprints to fill.

Maggie had her second chemo treatment last Friday. The CBC showed the white count on the low side of normal. I guess that is normal in most cases. She was doing so well after the treatment, we decided to go to the Lake House again. She loves being there. We had a great time and she enjoyed every minute. She has not lost her appetite and has shown not side affects except for sleeping a little more. Maggie is beginning to run a little more often. It's awesome to see how smooth she can move with three legs, while running that is. Walking looks difficult in comparison.
We continue to pray Maggie will be one of the few who beat this cancer. Thanks to all for your posts and support. Silver
Nice update! Glad to hear Maggie is handling everything so well.
Yes, they can be very fluid going fast- many times people don't notice that they are tripawds when they are running. Walking definitely shows the hop. My Maggie was a little pug, rear amp, low to the ground so it was not so easy to see that she was missing a leg. But when she was hopping I was often asked why she was limping!

Woo hoo! Way to go Maggie!
Yes, Tripawds find it easier to run than walk. When a dog loses a leg, all those years of obedience and learning to heel go out the window. Tripawds get to do whatever they want!

Maggie had her third chemo treatment a week ago last friday and continues to do so good. I've been reading some other posts where pups haven't been doing so well and thier Mom's and Dad's are going through some really tough times. I'm so sorry for them and wish it were different. It's so sad when you are faced with loosing a special furry friend. I've been there so many times and I know the hurt. I pray all of you get through your bad times and remember all of the joy your girl or guy gave you. Dogs are so special!!
Right now. I'm on the other side and I selfishly pray Maggie will be the exception. Our Maggie continues to do so good. Great appetite and attitude. Sleeps a little more than normal but she needs it. Three chemos of five and she is showing hardly no side affects. We are at our lake house again and she has the whole couch to herself when she rests. When outside, she goes to the lake and swims with her tennis ball. ( She also knows she needs her life vest on first - what a smart girl) Loves to see people come by to visit. Maggie is as close to her oldself as one could imagine. It is truly a blessing. Our other guy Dexter loves having his Sis back. What a good day we have had!! I hope all those others find some good with thier day too.

Wow, Maggie is really doing well! Harley is my 4th golden so I have a special place in my heart for goldens. When you read the happy stories it gives you the boost to keep going and we all need that.
Harley is an 8 year old Golden Retriever. Amp surgery for an infiltrative lipoma canceled due to two masses in chest. A rescue, he found his forever home on 3/18/07 and left for his eternal home on 1/09/13. His story and medical history are at http://myharley.....pawds.com/
What a wonderful update! Hope she continues to do well!
Zeus was a Husky mix diagnosed with Osteosarcoma at age 11. A visible lung met and suspicious spot on his liver meant a poor prognosis-six weeks was our vet's best guess. We decided to fight for our boy and his right front leg was amputated on 12/1/11. We did six rounds of chemo, changed his diet and spoiled him completely rotten. We were blessed with 10 great months after diagnosis. Against the odds, the lung met remained a single met and grew very little over those months. A wonderful furbaby with the most gentle spirit, he fought with a strength that we never imagined he possessed. We have no regrets...

Hooray for good updatees. Good updates give others hope for happy times.
It's great that you have a spot where she can swim - such good exercise for tripawds!

Great update!!! Love hearing good news!
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Sounds like she is doing great. Always happy to hear a good update!
Once she is done with the chemo, she'll probably be able to walk longer.
Keep kicking cancer's butt, Maggie!
