Emily was suppose to have her second chemo today but could not due to a low white blood cell count. I am scared that she wont be able to tolerate chemo and there wont be anything left we can do for her. Her first chemo was three weeks ago and she had blood test last week and the week before so why now? Has anyone else had this problem and been able to continue with chemo?
Debra & Emily, a five year old doberman mix, who was diagnosed with an osteosaecoma. She had a right rear leg amputation on May 19, 2009. On November 10, 2009 she earned her wings and regained her fourth leg.
I just read a post in the ask a vet forum on the same thing. You may want to go there and read what Tazzie said about it. It is only the 3rd post down.
Wish I could be of more help to you.
Chuy, showing everyone that Tripawds do everything 3 times better than regular dogs!
Pam (Dr. Tazziedog) mentioned that K9 Immunity can help boost the immune system, and that in time the white blodd cells will return. Whatever you do, never give up hope. It is your most powerful tool for helping Emily fght the cancer.
