Six months ago I never would have guessed I'd be this happy! Libby had her check up today with xrays and blood work. All is well! Lungs are clear and blood work is normal.
She gets checked every 3 months so this is only the 2nd round of xrays, post amp. We were a tad more nervous at this check up just because it HAS been 6 months and she was given 2 months if we did nothing. It seems we wait for the other shoe to drop, but not this time! We are so proud of our girl. She may be 10 but for the most part she acts like a pup.
For those who aren't familiar with her story....Libby has osteosarcoma and her right front leg was amputated 6 months ago today. We bypassed IV chemo and went straight to metronomics and supplements along with a diet change. We have stayed the course and I pray it leads us to join the coveted 1 year ampuversary club!
Thanks to all of you and the powers that be of this web site. You all have been a blessing and though I may not post a lot you are always in my thoughts and prayers.
Love,
Amy & Libby
Liberty (Libby) was diagnosed with OSA on 1-22-13. Right front amputation on 1-31-13. No IV Chemo. Metronomic Therapy started 2-19-13 along with supplements and some home cooking. Lungs clear until 1-06-14. She's still her happy, hoppy, bossy self. Living the dog life to the fullest and a proud Winter Warrior. :) RIP my Libby 4-21-03 to 3-19-14

Thank you all! She sure got her work out in the pool today. I had some family over and she played harder than ever. No, I didn't get a video. I'll scrounge up a pic if I can remember how to post it.
No scolding for not having her life jacket on! She started swimming before I got the chance, but she did wear it shortly after. It's kind of hard to see her but she's laying down on the raft and she rarely does that so I had to snap a pic.Liberty (Libby) was diagnosed with OSA on 1-22-13. Right front amputation on 1-31-13. Joan and Lily
Our beautiful Lily was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her front leg on 12/14/11 at age 8 and had amp on 12/16/11. She completed 5 rounds of carbo. She was so brave and kicked cancer's butt daily! She lived life fully for 4 years, 3 months, and 15 days after her amp. My angel is a warrior princess. I miss her so much.

Thank you, ladies! "My girls" put a smile on my face too.
I wish you had a pool too, Michelle. I think it has really helped her stay limber. She has some significant arthritis in her left hip but I think between the joint supplement and the swimming, she is still on the move and not displaying difficulty in getting up. I wish we could keep the pool open year round for her.
