I am also sorry you had to find us here. I really agree with Alpines moms advice regarding staying positive when you are around her. That was one of the best pieces of advice i was given. That, and stay strong; it does get easier. For a couple of weeks Tahoe was a bit antisocial and wouldn't join us in the living room. He stayed in a recovery area that I made for him. I think he felt safe. Now, he won't even go in that room. Tahoe is a rear amputee, so I do feel Fiona will have a bit more difficult time. He is just shy of the 3 month mark, and still has good and bad days. Some days I feel he has regressed, then he gets strong again. Part of the healing process. I agree very strongly with the advice regarding routine. Keep it as normal and consistent as you can. It will make her feel secure in her world that just got turned upside down. I wrote a blog on this site chronicling Tahoes story and our bout with the meds and phanton leg pain. This site had been a real God-send to us. I don't think we could have done it without all the advice and support from here and some other Pyr owners with amputees. Kisses from Tahoe to Fion, and a hug for you.
