It's three weeks today since Bonnie had her leg amputated.
Over the last week, she has been making incredible progress, to the point where she is now behaving just like her old self. It's been the best Christmas present to have our little girl back to normal! She has taken the lead all the way through, letting me know what she wants to do, and what she is capable of. She doesn't allow herself to be over-protected!
Here's a little video taken (with another Christmas present) on Boxing Day, when we took her back to the woods for the first time in a month.
Merry Christmas indeed! Thanks for sharing this wonderful present. Bonnie looks great! She seems to enjoy eating sticks as much as I did.

YEAH BONNIE!!!!
It is so wonderful to see her doing well, it's been a difficult and sad holiday week losing Griffyn and Jack and now Andy and this brought a smile to my face...

YAYYYYYY!!!!! Bonnie!!!!
Once these babies get past that 2 week mark, life takes on a whole new meaning, doesn't it? She looks so happy.
Keep on healing little girl!!!

Thanks for embedding the video. I didn't know how to do that.
Bonnie carries on delighting us every day. She is just indefatigable. Just after she'd lost her leg, someone said to me 'wouldn't it be easier to have the dog put down and get another one?' (obviously not a dog person). I didn't even bother to explain that we already have another three dogs - but not one of them is Bonnie, and none ever could be! She was our first, our hairy baby, and she's unlike any other dog I've ever known (as all of yours no doubt are!).
Here's a picture of our entire pack o'hounds, with my older daughter - taken this morning.

Easier!?!?! No way ... some people will just never understand. Thanks for sharing. Beautiful pack you have there!
