Hi all,
I just wanted to post an update that Koda had his lung Xrays today 3 months post osteosarcoma diagnosis and they came up clear. I am very relieved that there are no signs of mets. The vet nurses absolutely love Koda so he always gets a LOT of attention when he goes in. They weren't sure how he would go climbing down the stairs and then into the cage but he sure showed them!!!
Koda is still a little wobbly on his back legs, has anyone else noticed that with their dog after they have to lightly sedate them so they don't move? I am not too worried as he was like this after his original Xrays on his tumor and he recovered ok.
It seems my Koda boy is putting in a good fight so I will keep fighting it with him. Enjoying every day, one paw in front of the other!
Storm and Koda:)
Way to go, Koda! Congrats!!
I haven't noticed wobbliness after sedation with Yoda, but it sure sounds normal. My last dog (four-legged) was rather wobbly after being sedated for her teeth cleanings every time, as I recall.

Excellent! Way to kick cancer butt, Koda.

Thanks for the reassurance Yodasmum, about the wobbly legs. I read on one of your posts that Yoda is not feeling the best. I bet it feels like forever waiting till morning to take him in to the vet. I also read that they found mets just a few weeks after his Xrays. I am so sorry to hear that. I know today when we got the good news on Koda I was thinking wow, we might actually do alright here, but I am not going to let the excitement overwhelm me too much, where I start to drift off thinking that it will never catch up with us. I still need to make sure that we live each day to the fullest together because it goes to show you, that you just never know when that curve ball (mets) is going to get thrown. I hope Yoda is ok and I will be thinking of you guys waiting for your next post after seeing the vet.
Hi Storm
It is always good to hear about Koda (I never noticed the similarity to Yoda's moniker until now). Of course Tazzie and Koda are on the same amputation time line, although your diagnosis must have been slightly earlier. And we know how well Koda progressed after surgery - wasn't he running around at the park within a week or two?!? Amazing (but Tazzie did get there eventually).
Glad to hear the good news about your x-rays. Keep it up Koda and most importantly, stay happy! Our dogs are sure good at teaching us that lesson, even if we had to learn it the hard way.
Keep in touch,
Susan
Yay! We always love to hear news about clean x-rays. 🙂

I always love to hear the good news! Great job, Koda. Emily had her three month post-op x-ray last month so we are just a little ahead of you and Tazzie 2! (Emily's was clear, too!)

Thanks everyone! I know Susan we are on the same timeline. We found out about Koda's tumor the week before his amputation. He started limping at the end of June (he went about a week and then had a vet visit and got the news) and his amputation was 16th July. I took him in 12 weeks from when he first started limping.
That is wonderful news about Emily having clear Xrays. It gives us something to cling too!!!
Yay Koda and Emily for the clear chest X-rays!!!! Hope things keep going well for you both!!!
