Hello Everyone,
I just got home form visiting with Jewel. She still has what they call crackles under her skin. She also has a cough and some edema in her other leg. She is not totally up yet but I think she needs to come home. I think it will help her fight. I hope all goes well. She is drinking and eating on her own. That's always a good sign.
Me, I'm exhausted! Can't sleep…wake up thinking about her. I should also do better with her home. I need to learn how to work with her.
I must say, the Vet's office where I took Jewel has been truly amazing. Jewel thanks them all too!
I will keep you posted on how she's adjusting. Still no word form the lab as to what kind of cancer she has or should I say had…
Thank you all,
Love,
Jewel, Patti and Kyle
How do you post a picture?? I tryed and it won't work.
Patti, it definitely will make you both feel better when she is home, but from experience, let me tell you the first couple of days will not be days of rest for you. It takes a couple of days before your brain catches up and realizes when they rest, you rest too! The first couple of days, I woke up every time Trouble moved. I would even stay awake and watch her just to make sure she was OK. You will adjust as Jewell does, and one day you will wonder what the big deal was!

Hi Patti,
Well, that definitely sounds more pawsitive! Be sure to read our Health Tips and Top Questions pages before she comes home, just to prepare you and put your mind at ease.
Oh, and here is some information about posting photos on our Forums. If you're still having trouble, let us know by sending us your photo and we will be happy to post it for you.
Hang in there, and remember we are here to help. Good luck!

Patti,
We'll be thinking of you tonight. Toffee came home the same night as surgery and it was rough to put it mildly. I didn't let her out of my sight for the first 48 hours. Listen to Shanna and get a nap whenever you can, even if it means sleeping on the floor right next to her!
Let us know how she's getting along,
Laura and Toffee
