Now, double check, but I had Hapy Hannah on both. I think there was only a questin aboutthe Apocaps if they were taking Carvoblatin...and that was just to cut the doseage innhalf. But, guess what, I disn't find that out tile almost done with the chemo! And, with the exception of some lulls due to "finances", she's been on both fairly consistently the whole tome.
Not saying good or bad, right or wrong.....just saying!
Lots andlots and lots of hugs and love to you. I KNOW this is a gut wrenching tme and I wish we all had a crystal ball.
You've been here long enough to kow things dn't always turn out very well with the surgery. You also ow that it "usually" works out okay. Such a CRAP SHOOT!!
The vet who is doing the treatments for Chuck really seems to understand Chuck very well. Have a real heart to heart with him. Is there a chance that smehow the surgery could cause his remissin to give way? Or not have any effect at all. How soon after surgery can he resume his chemo or can he continue straight ghrough. Oh, and ask him about a brace too.
Chuck certainly has a lot of determination and gets a huge amount of joy outof life...and all that's a plus for whatever you decide! And you're know shrinking violet either! You are so strong and have such courage!
Give that love bug a big ole' kiss for us, okay? And you know the deal...right after you do that, give yourself a big ole' hugh from allof us!! I'm watching..........WOW....that was a good hug! Bottle it up and sell it!
Sally and Happy Hanna
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
According to the Dog Cancer Survival Guide
"Apocaps share some similarities to NSAIDs. . . Anti-inflammatory medications, like NSAIDs, may have mild "blood thinning" effects and, because Apocaps has NSAID-like effects, I exercise caution around surgeries. I have not seen Apocaps actually affect blood-clotting, but there is theoretical evidence that this could be a possibility. To be completely safe, I recommend stopping apocaps at least three days before surgery. You can start giving Apocaps again after healing is complete (usually ten to fourteen days after surgery)."
